Heaven On Earth May Have Just Arrived In The Form Of A Nutella Desert Bar

There exists in this life something known as a Tella Ball, a Nutella-filled doughnut that also comes served atop a Nutella milkshake, and for anyone who loves Nutella, just the description is enough to get the mouth watering. Aki Daikos is the creator of the confectionery delight that is the extremely popular Tella Ball, and makes it available at Foodcraft Espresso, which sadly for many of us, is in Australia.

Nonetheless, the knowledge that this exists is a gift that can be shared. The Foodcraft Espresso and Bakery creation became the highlight of Nutella lovers dreams when it was announced via their social media earlier this year, and it had people travelling from all over to try the creation. Now, Foodcraft Espresso and Bakery is set to create an even bigger sensation, as announcements that there will be a dessert bar dedicated to Nutella will be opened in November in Dulwich Hill. Co-creators Aki Daikos and Simon Kappatos have been using Facebook to leak delicious teasers for the past three weeks. Inspiration for the dessert bar comes courtesy of Daikos’ travel to Dubai last year and a stop at a famous restaurant there.

“I went to Eataly and they had a Nutella dessert bar there. I said to myself, ‘I am going to make sure we have something like this in Sydney next year’.”

Broadsheet did a piece that read the hazelnut-chocolate spread will be at the heart of the Tella Balls Dessert Bar, but there will be no shortage of Nutella products. Customers can expect crepes, waffles, and pancakes, all covered in Nutella. New shake flavors are coming, too, with some very chocolate-inspired flavors like Snickers and Kit-Kat. There will also be around 10 new doughnut flavors released and served at the dessert bar. Expect to find flavors such as Belgian chocolate, cookies and cream, peanut butter, lemon butter, and cheesecake.

The exact location has not even been revealed yet, and is only serving to fuel the fires of those anxious to try the product — guessing games abound. And hopefully the Dessert Bar will continue the wonderful tradition that The Foodcraft Espresso and Bakery had begun of donating $1 of every Tella Ball sold to the Sydney Children’s Hospital in Randwick. It’s definitely a way to ensure that all the sinful delight being consumed can be thought to be contributing to the betterment of society. The Tella Balls Dessert Bar will also feature a surprising product unlike anything ever seen in Australia before, the creators boasted, though they won’t say exactly what this unique surprise will be quite yet. They intend to soar past those that inspired the Dessert Bar and create a truly unique experience that cannot be had anywhere else.

The Australian gave an account of just the type of setup customers can expect when entering the new Tella Balls Dessert Bar. Reportedly, there will be “plenty of Nutella and every Nutella product” imaginable. One side of the store will be lined with coffee machines, while the other will have wall-to-wall sweets like Nutella cheesecakes, Nutella brownies, Nutella banana bread, and other cakes, in a huge cabinet. Kappatos also said a gelato bar will be available and feature Nutella along with other great flavors.

In the Facebook post that announced the new Dessert Bar, they followed up the name release with a teasing call for customers to “wipe your chins and read on.” The new place was described as “a dessert bar to go totally nuts over” and “a dessert bar dedicated to all things Nutella and more.” The masses promptly took to Twitter after Monday’s Facebook announcement and a plethora of hashtags were born in anticipation — these include #Nutella, #dessertporn, and #tellaballsdessertbar. Those who are stateside can get in on the social media buzz until they can get on over to Australia to partake in person.

The Tella Balls Dessert Bar dessert bar is planned to operate from 10 a.m. to 11 p.m., seven days a week.
