Teresa Giudice Struggles To Survive Life Behind Bars: ‘Real Housewives’ Star’s Hubby Joe Giudice Tells All For Special

Teresa Giudice once was beloved by reality TV fans for her charisma on Real Housewives Of New Jersey. Always chic and polished, Teresa seemed to have the perfect life. But although many of those followers still are faithful, others were shocked when scandal broke for Giudice and her husband Joe as they found themselves sentenced to consecutive terms in prison.

Now Teresa is serving out her time behind bars. What’s life like in prison, and how can the seemingly impeccable, glamorous Teresa survive? Giudice, who is taking care of the couple’s children, is ready to reveal how he and his wife are coping with the reality of her prison sentence, reported Entertainment Tonight.

According to Giudice, Teresa is having a difficult time but has sought to help her family feel positive about her situation.

“She’s holding up. I can’t say she’s doing great but she looks good,” said Joe. “She keeps her spirits up and tries to make us feel like she’s OK.”

However, when it comes to Teresa and her true feelings, Giudice was blunt about his wife.

“She’s really not [okay]. She wants to be home,” added Joe.

In December, Teresa will be released from the Connecticut prison where she has lived since January. Joe will then start his prison stay, which will last 41 months. The Giudice plea deal permitted this arrangement with the understanding that their children needed one parent to be at home throughout this tough time.

As the Inquisitr reported, Teresa has been keeping a prison diary on topics ranging from icky food to scary fights that can be turned into a memoir. Giudice’s attorney revealed that the memoir will share her story from her beginnings through life behind bars.

Teresa’s diversions include working out, reading email, and eating what she described as a typical meal of gross orange soy burgers and tater tots.

But Giudice also can sometimes visit with her daughters Gia, Gabriella, Milania, and Audriana, and Joe described those visits as tough on everyone.

“Whenever we get there, Milania is just like, ‘Mommy why can you just come home? Why don’t you just get up and leave?’ and Teresa is like, ‘Soon baby soon.’ Adriana doesn’t really say much about it but she cries sometimes.”

Bravo will broadcast a three-part special about Teresa, Joe, and the Giudice family on Sunday, October 11 at 8 p.m., entitled The Real Housewives of New Jersey: Teresa Checks In. In it, the Giudice clan will reveal what it’s like to have their mom behind bars while learning more about Teresa’s situation.

But has Joe been faithful to his wife while she’s behind bars? That’s the question that was raised recently, and Teresa’s fans are waiting for an answer.

While Teresa has been in prison, Giudice has been seen with another woman, causing rumors that Joe is cheating to make the rounds, according to Radar Online.

But Joe tackled not only those rumors but took responsibility for the fact that Teresa is in prison serving a sentence for fraud.

“I was to blame — I took full responsibility for everything, but they still put her away…I was supposed to go away, not her. And that was part of the plea.”

Giudice remains bewildered by the courtroom occurrences, he claims, confused by the fact that his wife was convicted.

“I felt the pain… the chill going down my spine… I couldn’t believe it,” added Joe.

As for cheating on Teresa, Giudice denied all those rumors.

“I don’t date anybody — listen, anybody does anything for money, so, if they feel they can make a couple bucks, they’re going make it — they’re going to say whatever they want to say,” Joe declared.

And with Teresa away, Giudice tries to be a good “mom” to his daughters, reported E News.

From cheerleading to soccer, Joe is there to rah on his daughters.

“Teresa did all the driving around, running around, paying for everything and doing all this and doing all that. I never knew how many expenses there are just in the activities,” admitted Giudice. “Everything’s expensive, but I enjoy it. It’s fun watching them and they did really good.”

As for cheer practice, Joe proudly gave himself a new title.

“I’m like the cheer mom,” laughed Giudice.
