Victor Cruz’s 200 Side Chicks Rumor Likely 201 Area Code Mistake: Elaina Watley’s Alleged Group Text Message Goes Viral [Photos]

Now that Victor Cruz has allegedly been called out via a group text message that Elaina Watley, Victor’s fiancée, reportedly sent to his “whores,” a rumor is spreading that Cruz reportedly has more than 200 side chicks. However, it’s easy to see by examining the text messages how such a mistake could be made when examining the reported screenshots of the texts allegedly sent by Elaina.

First off, here are the words Wately allegedly sent to Cruz’s side chicks, although probably not 200 of them, once the last screenshot is examined.

“Hello Ladies – This is Elaina, Victor Cruz’s fiancée. You all know about me and I seem to be the topic of conversations in all of your conversations with Vic. I’m sure he’s told you many [sic] of things about us and how we don’t exist but given the fact that you all meet him in hotel rooms only, we all know that’s a lie, just as he tells me you all are whores and mean nothing to him…I figured since you all know about me, then I should introduce each one of you to each other so we can all know who we have been f****** for the past several months. So ladies meet one another and feel free to exchange notes. [Kissing face emoji].”

So, if Elaina didn’t mention 200 side chicks in the text of her supposed group text message to Cruz’s other women, how did this 200 side chicks rumor likely begin?

Well, the below screenshot, as reported by Maxim, shows a text message being sent to “Victor Cruz” and then it begins the number 1 with 201 in parentheses, obviously the beginning of a phone number with the 201 area code.

“Area codes 201 and 551 are the North American telephone area code for the state of New Jersey covering most of Hudson and Bergen counties.”

Therefore, someone obviously interpreted the 201 as a text message sent to a group of more than 200 women from Elaina (including the group text going to Cruz), but that 201 is likely an area code in the New Jersey area, not 200 women.

Victor’s name with the 200 women rumor is lighting up on Twitter as a result of the faux pas. Not everyone tweeting about Cruz and 200 women are falling for the mistake. Some realize that the 201 means an area code, and not 200 women.

Elaina’s Instagram is private, and Watley’s Twitter account isn’t very active. But Watley and Cruz get out on the town quite a bit – having recently attended the Givenchy SS16 After Party on September 11, 2015, in New York City.

Either way, Victor’s name continues to trend on Twitter, with folks calling the salsa dancer a player and joking about Cruz’s rumor of having more than 200 women means that he has more women than some people have as Twitter followers.

On Twitter, the Cruz account – called “Team Vic” – hasn’t directly addressed the controversy. The self-dubbed “Scholar, Athlete, Human Wide Receiver for the New York Giants from Paterson, NJ” on Twitter is apparently from New Jersey, so that makes the 201 area code all the more apparent – instead of 200 women.

Elaina’s Twitter calls her a “brand strategist,” and she hasn’t tweeted in nearly one year.

While folks are wondering if Elaina really sent text messages to any of Victor’s other women — be they 200 or 20, as reported by NJ.com? — it’ll be interesting to see what pans out as a result. While Victor is busy pledging that he would return to the football field after an injury, it could be Cruz’s reputation that’s a little injured (or buoyed by the claims of 200 women, depending on whom you ask) as well.
