‘GTA V’: Rockstar Games Further Explores New Online Content

Continuing to provide a closer look to what was added to Grand Theft Auto V as part of the most recent title update, Rockstar Games has once again released several helpful tips that should give GTA Online users an edge when participating in the new Freemode Event activities.

Picking up where they left off in the series of hints, Rockstar games once again started by providing a rundown of basics that every gamer should keep in mind if they plan to engage in any of the new online Freemode activities that were recently patched into GTA V. Similarly to last week’s hints, Rockstar Games opened up the second part of their new tip series by providing fans with a few general suggestions that are good to keep whenever playing GTA Online.

As the Inquisitr reported at the time, these introductory hints are more common sense reminders. Repeating a few of the crucial tips for success in Freemode activities, Rockstar Games Once again stated that players need to make sure that they are well-equipped before joining in on the new free-roam activities. Since Freemode Events can trigger anytime while inside GTA Online‘s open-world lobby, users might not get a chance to stock up on ammunition or other equipment before they launch.

By delving further into the newest content for Grand Theft Auto V, Rockstar Games offered up even more details on the title’s new online-only objectives in the second installment of the Freemode Event tip series. In addition to giving fans a few generalized tips, the team also took a more in-depth look specifically at three of the new free-roam game modes.

To begin with, Rockstar Games spoke about the new Kill List activity. There are two different versions of this Freemode Event. In a standard Kill List objective, players must try to survive against relentless enemy forces for as long as they can while inside a vehicle. Kill List can also become competitive by forcing gamers to see who can get the most kills during the activity.

“In this Event, you’ll be taking control of some heavy hitting machinery to duke it out with persistent mercenaries from Merryweather Security. Once you enter the vehicle, the countdown timer will start and you’ll begin to rack up cash and RP for each kill.”

Rockstar Games suggests that players should simply ignore all other Kill List participants. Even in a competitive match it’s best to focus all attention on the opposing Merryweather forces because users simply won’t get any RP for killing other players during the activity.

Tactical Vehicles in GTA Online

Next, the developer discussed the new GTA Online content that plays somewhat like a vehicular session of king-of-the-hill. With Penned In, players must try to stay inside a moving circle while simultaneously trying to push other people out of the area.

“As soon as you see that Penned In is about to begin, jump into the nearest ride and find your way into the ring before the timer starts. The goal is to stay within the dome as it begins to move and shrink, attempting to knock other participants out, while doing your best to stay in the area.”

According to Rockstar Games, having the right vehicle is the key to winning Penned In. So, if players aren’t currently in their best personally owned vehicle in GTA Online when this Freemode Event begins, picking up the proper nearby vehicle can make all the difference.

GTA Online: Dead Drop

The final Freemode activity that Rockstar Games detailed this week is Dead Drop. This event features a package that must be delivered to a specific point on the map. Players must fight each other for ownership of the package which can lead to some fierce competitive combat.

“Dead Drop begins as soon as one person picks up the package that appears on your Radar. From there, each player battles to be the one holding the package when it reaches the destination marked on your map.”

Unfortunately for lone-wolf gamers, the studio behind GTA Online admits that Dead Drop will nearly always be dominated by those who form groups. As Rockstar Games shared on their official Twitter account, gamers willing to work together can designate a package carrier while everyone provides protection.
