‘Iron Man 3’ Begins Filming, First Official Set Photo Released

Rumors about “Iron Man 3” have been swirling all week due to a leaked photo of the Iron Patriot. Well, Marvel Studios added a little more mystery today by tweeting the first official photo from the set.

The photo, which was taken on the first day of shooting, shows Robert Downey Jr. standing in front of a wall of Iron Man suits. Marvel is definitely aware of all the hype surrounding the plot of the new film and the photo definitely adds to the speculation about what characters will show up in the new movie.

Marvel writes:

“Check out the first official #IronMan3 Set Photo… Who do you hope to see show up in the film?

Downey, Gwyneth Paltrow, and Don Cheadle will all reprise their roles in the new film but other than that, little is known about Iron Man 3. Marvel said that the plot of the new movie will “continues the epic, big-screen adventures of the world’s favorite billionaire inventor/Super Hero, Tony Stark aka Iron Man.”

What do you think about the first photo from the set of Iron Man 3? Is it merely Stark’s personal collection of Iron Man suits, you know, in case he wants a wardrobe change? Does it hint at a plot involving a security breach, where the villains are able to take control of Stark’s technology? Is it just a shrine to himself? As Entertainment Weekly speculates, does the photo show a row of coffins?

Also, where’s the Iron Patriot?
