Teresa Giudice Prison Release Details: Will ‘Real Housewives’ Star Go To A Halfway House?

Teresa Giudice is scheduled to be released from prison on December 23, but will the Real Housewives of New Jersey star be taken from the Federal Correctional Facility in Danbury, Connecticut, to a halfway house? Although that is often the case for inmates, a source told Radar Online on October 6 that Teresa Giudice will go right home to her husband, Joe Giudice, and their four daughters, upon her release from the facility.

“[Teresa Giudice] won’t be required to go to a halfway house because that is typically for those that have been behind bars for a much longer term than the thirteen months [Teresa Giudice] will have served. Individuals that go to a halfway house need assistance and to be monitored as they transition back into society. [Teresa Giudice] wasn’t sent away long enough for that to be an issue.”

With just over two months left of her prison term, Teresa Giudice is said to be “counting down the days” before she is reunited with her family for the holidays — and who can blame her? Since January 5, Teresa Giudice has been incarcerated states away from her family, and while they are allowed visits and phone calls, she’s surely desperate to get home.

Throughout her sentence, Teresa Giudice’s family, including her husband and their daughters, has been filming a reality special for Bravo, which will air this Sunday night, October 11. The three-part documentary, titled The Real Housewives of New Jersey: Teresa Checks In, will follow Teresa Giudice’s family as they navigate through life with her behind bars.

Once Teresa Giudice is released from prison in December, she will be expected to have a job, which must be approved by her probation officer. Although it is unclear at this point what that job will be, one possible option is a gig at Melissa Gorga’s new boutique in New Jersey. As the source revealed, Teresa Giudice and her sister-in-law will likely be filming scenes for the upcoming seventh season of The Real Housewives of New Jersey at the store throughout the year, so if Teresa Giudice was working there at the same time, it could prove both beneficial and time-saving to her.

According to Radar Online, fans of Teresa Giudice will “be stunned at how much she has changed, for the better since serving time.”

“[Teresa Giudice] no longer takes anything for granted and wants to work with women that haven’t been as fortunate as she has.”

Teresa Giudice and her husband, Joe, were sentenced to time in prison in October of last year after pleading guilty to charges of bank and wire fraud months prior. However, instead of forcing the parents to serve their terms at the same time, the judge on their case allowed them to stagger their sentences so that their four children would never be without at least one parent to care for them.

Once Teresa Giudice is released from prison on December 23, Joe will begin serving a 41-month prison term at a yet-to-be-named facility. He is also facing a possible deportation due to the fact that he is not a citizen of the United States.

For more of Teresa Giudice’s family, tune into The Real Housewives of New Jersey: Teresa Checks In, starting on Sunday, October 11, at 8 p.m. on Bravo. Teresa Giudice is also expected to begin filming season seven of The Real Housewives of New Jersey with her co-stars upon her release from prison.
