Zayn Malik: Does The World Need An ‘After One Direction’ Show?

Since former One Direction star Zayn Malik walked out on the boy-band earlier this year, speculation has been rife about what might come next for the singer. Rumors had been circulating about Malik’s ability to cope with life in the spotlight for many months but Zayn seemed to have put it all behind him when One Direction’s “On The Road Again” tour began in Australia back in February. Just a month later, Malik broke millions of young hearts when he walked out on One Direction and flew back to the UK leaving his band-mates to cope without him.

When Malik quit the band, he revealed that he had been suffering from stress and that he needed time to “be a normal 22-year-old.” Malik then outraged One Direction fans when he was spotted in the studio with his record producer friend Naughty Boy. Shortly afterwards Malik and his former friend had a very public fall-out and, as reported in Inquisitr, Zayn described his former friend as “a fat joke.”

Since that fall-out, Malik has reportedly been working on a solo album but was dumped by Simon Cowell’s SyCo because of the danger of a conflict of interests between Malik and One Direction. Since quitting the boy-band Malik has rarely been out of the gossip columns as speculation grew that he was to marry fiance Perrie Edwards. Malik then shocked his fans by dumping Perrie, reportedly by text message.

Malik also upset One Direction fans when he gave an interview saying that he quit One Direction because he wanted to make “real music.” Fans were upset once again when Malik posted a photograph on Instagram of himself getting very cosy with a pretty girl.

At present there is no firm news about Malik releasing any solo music. It is likely that his contract with SyCo prevents him doing so until after One Direction’s fifth album is released on November 13.

Malik has been linked with a possible career in television on a number of occasions and it seems that he may be in talks to star in a reality TV show. Hollywood Life claim that Zayn is to star in a “fly-on-the-wall” style reality show about his life after One Direction.

According to International Business Times an “unnamed source” has revealed Malik’s TV show plans.

“Zayn is talking to E! and other networks about a reality show that will document his time after being in One Direction and working on his new music. It will counter when new music comes out, so it’s not going to be any time soon, but within the year. Don’t expect it to come out in 2015!”

Zayn would not be the first One Direction star to dabble in television as it has been widely reported that father-to-be Louis Tomlinson is to return to X-Factor in a bid to boost the shows flagging ratings in the UK.

After the year that Malik has had a reality show featuring Zayn would likely be a hit with audiences who are interested in celebrity gossip. Since splitting with Perrie Edwards Malik has been linked with a string of beautiful women. The Daily Mail is currently linking Malik with 20-year-old Burberry model Neelam Gill who made history by becoming the first Indian model to be involved in the iconic fashion label’s advertising campaign.

According to Sugarscape, Neelam has revealed that she is the latest in a long line of girls to be subjected to online abuse after she was linked with Malik. Neelam claims she was subjected to racist abuse by so-called One Direction fans after stories emerged linking her with Zayn. Neelam says “I don’t care if people call me ugly but when it is about your skin colour that is unacceptable.”
