Meri Brown of ‘Sister Wives’ Admits to Being Catfished into Online Relationship

Meri Brown of Sister Wives is speaking out and admitting to being catfished earlier this year. Catfishing means someone lied to her and pretended to be someone that they were not while chatting with one other online. People shared today that even though rumors have been flying for months, Meri Brown is now finally coming clean and admitting that it really did happen. What does this mean for the Brown family?

Meri said that she did have an emotional relationship with a woman who she thought was a man. It was all online, making it was easy to be tricked. Meri Brown gave an exclusive statement to People today.

“During an emotional and vulnerable time earlier this year, I began speaking with someone online who turned out to be not who they said they were. I never met this person and I regret being drawn into this situation, but I hope because of it I can help others who find themselves in similar circumstances. Throughout this ordeal, my family has supported and stood by me. I am grateful to them for their love and strength through this difficult time.”

At this time, it doesn’t sound like Meri Brown has any plans to leave Kody Brown even though the two are divorced on paper. She allegedly got a divorce from him so that Kody could marry Robyn Brown and adopt her children legally.

All About the Tea has been reporting about the emotional affair that Meri Brown had, and that may be part of the reason she decided to come forward. The information has been out there and Sister Wives fans have been reading it. According to reports, Meri thought she was talking to a man named Sam Cooper. It turns out that she was really talking to a woman by the name of Jackie Overton.

The reports share that Meri Brown traveled to California and had big plans to meet up with “Sam.” Of course, he didn’t show up because he didn’t really exist. He was just a person that Overton made up to talk to Meri Brown online. Meri allegedly met up with someone named Lindsay, who was supposed to be Sam’s assistant. It turns out this was really Jackie Overton, the person she had been talking to all along online.

It looks like Meri Brown had a great day with Jackie Overton, but she had no clue that this person had been catfishing her all along. Meri was tricked, but she’s now revealing the truth to her fans. It didn’t sound like Meri Brown had plans to take this relationship further than just talking online.

It could be said that Meri is the victim here, because she has been totally tricked. Fans are curious why she would actually do this, though. Her husband, Kody Brown, has not revealed his thoughts or given any kind of statement on the matter so far. More than likely, the above statement is all that Meri may ever share with her fans on the subject.

As a result of the rumors, fans are wondering if Meri Brown and Kody Brown aren’t still doing as well as they say that they are on the show. Maybe there are some problems going on that everyone is not aware of and they aren’t sharing on Sister Wives.
