Marilyn Manson Wants ‘Gotham’ Role

Marilyn Manson has revealed that he really wants a role on Gotham, with the rocker insisting that his presence on the show would make it infinitely better.

The legendary musician is so intent on starring on the FOX show that he even took to his Twitter account to try and get support for his potential appearance.

There’s already been speculation, via Batman News, that Marilyn Manson has already gained a part on the show and that he’s simply building up anticipation for his appearance and teasing fans about it.

Fans were immediately intrigued just by the thought of Marilyn Manson starring in Gotham, as it was retweeted over 1,300 times and favorited over 3,000 times.

Plus, there were those who instantly started to insist that Manson really did need to be cast on the show, otherwise Gotham will never be the same or live up to its potential.

In fact, Robin Lord Taylor, who plays Oswald Cobblepot/Penguin on Gotham, soon came out in support of Manson appearing on the show, insisting that it really does need to happen.

Meanwhile, the actor wasn’t the only individual to respond to Manson’s tweet positively, as various other users from across the world wide web soon came out with vociferous support. You can check out some of the responses below.

But who could Marilyn Manson actually portray on the show? Well, people soon started to insist that he would make a great Joker, even though at 46-years-old he is much too old to feature in the origin story for the character.

Plus, there’s also the fact that Jerome Valeska, who is played by Cameron Monaghan on Gotham, is set to turn into The Joker at some point in the future of the show.

During a recent interview with the Nerdist, via Comic Book Resources, Bruno Heller, who is the showrunner for Gotham, insisted concrete answers that unveiled the myth behind the Joker will be provided on the show.

“We’re going to be giving you concrete answers to his identity,” Heller insisted. “That story is going to come to a huge and shocking resolution which will explain the whole Joker myth and how it began and how the Joker came to be.”

Will this include Marilyn Manson? Maybe the rocker could be one of the deranged individuals who helped to mold the Joker into the psychotic monster that he ultimately becomes? We’ll just have to see further down the line. But Marilyn Manson’s casting on Gotham would certainly be a dream casting for the show.

Gotham, which airs on Monday at 8 p.m. EST on FOX, stars Ben MacKenzie as James Gordon, Donal Logue as Harvey Bullock, David Mazouz as Bruce Wayne, and Robin Lord Taylor as Oswald Cobblepot.
