Brooks Ayers Barely Speaking To Vicki Gunvalson, Reports Claim She No Longer Believes He Has Cancer After Taping ‘RHOC’ Reunion

Are Brooks Ayers and Vicki Gunvalson on the outs? In a new interview, the Real Housewives of Orange County star offered an update on his relationship with his former girlfriend — and his update wasn’t what fans expected.

On October 1, Brooks Ayers spoke to Us Weekly, revealing he hasn’t had much contact with Gunvalson since they split in August. In fact, Brooks Ayers claims he’s spoken to Gunvalson just once in the last couple of weeks, and emailed and texted only “on occasion.” But while Brooks Ayers may not be close with Gunvalson any longer, he still wishes her the best, and is looking forward to seeing her freed of the ongoing drama with her Real Housewives of Orange County co-stars.

“Today [at the reunion] will be the last time Vicki has got to deal with it in front of the ladies. They’ll move on to next season, and they can pick on somebody else, and manufacture some drama. I care for her, I wish her well, it just didn’t work out [for] us.”

The “it” Brooks Ayers was referring to was Brooks Ayers’ stage 3 Non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma diagnosis, which many of Gunvalson’s Real Housewives of Orange County co-stars believe he’s lying about. Throughout the season, many of the ladies, including Meghan King Edmonds, Shannon Beador, Heather Dubrow, and Tamra Barney, have made claims against Brooks Ayers, and raised doubts in both his diagnosis and treatment statements. Edmonds even accused Brooks Ayers of faking his medical records in an attempt to make it look as if his cancer was real.

On August 16, Brooks Ayers and Gunvalson released a joint statement regarding their breakup on Facebook.

“After much prayer, thought, counseling, and consideration, we have decided to end our four year relationship. We both wish nothing but a great future for each other. We have come to realize that one can indeed love someone in their heart, but that the time may come for their lives to take separate paths. Though the remaining episodes of Season 10 of The Real Housewives of Orange County will show us as a couple, the filming took place in January 2015 through May 2015. There will be no further statements or interviews regarding our relationship as we choose to move on with our lives. Though we choose to live our lives in the public eye we thank you for your understanding and ask privacy during this difficult time.”

Even after Brooks Ayers’ breakup, he and Gunvalson remained supportive of one another, and often expressed that on Twitter. However, after filming on the season 10 reunion happened, they have remained silent, leading some to believe something may have happened at the reunion that made Gunvalson question her former boyfriend.

Then, on October 2, Real Mr. Housewife claimed Gunvalson no longer believed Brooks Ayers truly had cancer. According to their source, Gunvalson’s view on his diagnosis completely changed after filming the reunion special with Andy Cohen and her co-stars in Los Angeles. Although the source confirmed Gunvalson was absolutely convinced of Brooks Ayers’ illness in the months leading up to filming, her mindset had done a 180, and now, she believes Brooks Ayers wasn’t being honest all along.

“She thinks [Brooks Ayers] cancer was faked and she no longer believes anything he told her,” the source explained.
