Actress Zhang Ziyi Denies Rumor That She Made $1 Million Per Night As Prostitute

Zhang Ziyi, the actress who starred in movies like “Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon,” “Rush Hour 2,” and “Memoirs Of Geisha,” apparently got her biggest paychecks from her second job as a prostitute. The Hong Kong tabloid newspaper Apple Daily claims that Ziyi made $1 million a night while working as a prostitute.

The Apple Daily reports that Zhang Ziyi charged high-power Chinese officials, like former Commerce Minister Bo Xilai, $1 million a night for her sexual services. The paper claims that Ziyi worked as a prostitute for four years and netted over $110 million.

Zhang Ziyi’s publicist said:

“This time, we are telling those rumor-makers that we will respond. We will prove our side of the story; we’ll seek legal justice; we’ll find you in the darkest corner and go after you.”

And Ziyi doesn’t seem to be messing around. She’s hired a few lawyers to represent her in case she decides to sue the paper. The lawfirm representing Ziyi said:

“Your allegations concerning our client are completely untrue and constitute a grave libel upon her.”

ABC reports that the firm is demanding a retraction, as well as an apology, from the paper and threatened to take legal action.

Zhang Ziyi has appeared on FHM’s Sexiest Women, Stuff Magazine’s Sexiest Women in The World, People Magazine’s Most Beautiful People, and Time Magazine’s Most Influential, lists. Her most recent film, “Dangerous Liaisons,” just debuted at the Cannes Film Festival.
