Naya Rivera And Hubby Ryan Dorsey Become First-Time Parents And Reveal Baby Name

While it seems like only yesterday that Naya Rivera and husband Ryan Dorsey announced that they were expecting their first child, the actress is now officially out of that baby bump stage of life, at least for now.

The couple wed July 2014 in a secret ceremony in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico, last year in a move that shocked many of the Glee alum fans since she had recently broken off an engagement with Big Sean in 2014. The couple had been friends for four years prior though, and things became romantic following the break up. Now, with what we presume is much “Glee,” Naya and Ryan have welcomed a boy into their lives. Rivera gave birth to the baby boy earlier this month in Los Angeles. It seems that one of the reasons that the time flew by so quickly was the ease of the pregnancy. US Weekly says a source revealed to them that the birth went off without a hitch too.

“They are so excited to be first-time parents. It was a very easy pregnancy and birth.”

The pair are very good at surprising the public by now, waiting until April of this year to even officially make the announcement of the pregnancy. Rivera, 28, and Dorsey, 32, announced their engagement via her blog with a throwback pic of Naya and Ryan as kids. She also included a funny pic of a bun in the oven as well as a personal message.

“Surprise! We’re having a baby! Ryan and I feel so blessed and can’t wait to welcome the newest member of our family.”

Rivera became a celebrity blogger for People Magazine. She gave insight into her personal experiences during the pregnancy and even some serious peeks into intimacy with her husband. In one post Rivera spoke about how she was then confined to only two positions during sex because Ryan was afraid of damaging the baby’s roof (her belly) nor have the baby (the belly again) staring him in the face. She revealed that her belief for this insistence on Dorsey’s part was because “men are constantly imagining their baby winking at them when they make love to their pregnant wives thus making sexy times more few and far between.”

The singer/ actress also gave tips to moms-to-be on her blog and also used her Instagram page to give fans a glimpse into life during her first pregnancy.

An insider close to the couple also revealed to Us that though they are new to parenting, they’ve apparently taken to it like a fish to water.

“Naya was born to be a mother and is doing really well so far. And Ryan has amazing paternal instincts and has been waiting on them both hand and foot.”

Dorsey’s support was one of the things Rivera appreciated most about her husband, and she made that clear on the blog. Hollywood Life shared a really sweet post Naya made to the blog about Ryan.

“My husband has been so supportive and excited about the entire process and it’s definitely brought us that much closer together.”

On another occasion, Rivera mentioned how wonderful it is to be able to share the pregnancy with the loving Dorsey and how excited she was about it. She recalled how during her second trimester, finally being able to feel the baby’s kicks made it all worthwhile. The moment when Ryan was able to share that with her, to feel their baby kick, is a precious memory that she will never forget.

Hollywood Life also mentioned that the couple have released the name of their bouncing baby boy — Josey Hollis Dorsey. Naya Rivera and Ryan Dorsey became first-time parents at 8:31 a.m. on Sept. 17.
