Dwayne Johnson Mourns His Tiny Puppy Brutus’ Death: ‘The Rock’ Offers Dog Health Tips & Gets Ford Gig [Photos]

Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson had a big love for his tiny puppies. And now one of the wrestler/actor’s little French bulldogs has died, leaving his daddy Dwayne grief-stricken, reported MSN.

Johnson had two little dogs, and it was Brutus who consumed a mushroom that was poisonous. Dwayne told his Instagram fans that he had to decide to remove Brutus from life support, leaving him heartbroken. Johnson shared that the tragedy happened when the puppy was playing with Hobbs, his brother doggy.

“Another reminder we have to live and love as greatly as we can today, because tomorrow is never guaranteed. [We] had to make the painful decision to end Brutus’ suffering by taking him off of life support and sending his soul to pup heaven. I held his lil’ paw as he was finally at peace.”

But what would cause this to happen? Dwayne wants all pet owners to understand the tragedy to prevent a similar occurrence in their lives.

“As all puppies and dogs do, he ate a mushroom while playing outside with his brother Hobbs. This mushroom happened to have a lethal toxicity and within hours it was rapidly destroying his liver and immune system to the point of no return,” added Johnson.

In addition, Dwayne pointed out that a mushroom that looks innocent both to puppies and humans could be deadly. Johnson recommended being careful about such naturally growing fungi everywhere that their dogs play, from parks to playgrounds to the back yard.

“We’ll always love you Brutus. and you’ll always be my lil’ main man and rough housing Brute. #RIPBrutus,” wrote Dwayne.

Johnson adopted Brutus during Labor Day weekend with little Hobbs. The two spent their initial time with him rushing to the pool and falling into the deep end, where one did a valiant dog paddle and the other, tiny Brutus, sunk. Dwayne immediately leaped in to save the puppy from drowning.

In addition, Brutus became sick, and Johnson stayed up all night with his little puppy.

“First I save this lil’ zombie Brutus’ life from drowning in the pool, now he decides to get all sick on me and having that awesome ‘north/south’ action coming out of both ends of his body,” wrote Dwayne.

Although Johnson joked then, he made it clear now that he adored the little puppy and will miss him.

As Dwayne mourns his dog, he has a new gig on the horizon. Johnson will use his “The Rock” fame for Ford Motor Company, reported Auto News.

In a new commercial campaign, Ford will feature Dwayne in advertisements that showcase service departments at the auto manufacturers’ dealerships. Johnson will appear in the commercials beginning October 12.

Look for The Rock to take the leadership role of a group of technicians, dubbed “The Specialists at Ford.” The car company revealed that it has contracted for more than one year with Dwayne, and the pact with Johnson ranges from social media to TV to radio and beyond to make The Rock synonymous with Ford.

In addition, the car manufacturer described Dwayne as a major fan. Johnson reportedly has three Fords himself, and has nicknamed his F-150 “the black gorilla,” terming it his top auto baby.

“His genuine appreciation of the brand makes the alignment of Ford service and Dwayne Johnson a great partnership,” Ford stated.

In addition to the F-150, he owns an Aston Martin Vanquish Volante. However, a social media exchange between Dwayne and a fan revealed his passion for Ford, with Johnson revealing that he’s been a Ford fan for years.
