Sophia Bush, Jesse Lee Soffer Of ‘Chicago P.D.’ Seemingly Reuniting Off-Screen As Season 3 Set To Debut On NBC

Has romance carried over into real life once again for Chicago P.D. stars Sophia Bush and Jesse Lee Soffer? The two were a romantic item once before, and a new photo out just ahead of the Season 3 premiere of the pair’s show has fans wondering. What’s the scoop?

E! Online shares the photo of Sophia Bush and Jesse Lee Soffer strolling hand-in-hand in New York City this past weekend. The two were looking casual as they walked together through the city on Sunday. According to PopSugar, they were spotted together again later in the day elsewhere as well.

Chicago P.D. fans know that Bush and Soffer already dated once before. The two kept their romance quiet for the first few months in the initial go-around, but they went a bit more public a few months into their romance. The two dated for about a year before reportedly splitting last June.

Though the co-stars never said much of anything regarding their supposed split, the breakup was said to be amicable, and the two apparently stayed friendly. That’s a good thing, considering how intertwined their characters are on the show. Bush and Soffer may not be saying anything directly about a rekindling of their romance, but fans definitely suspect that, based on the photos making the rounds, they’re giving things another go.

Of course, this isn’t Sophia Bush’s first time dating a co-star. Fans know that she was married to her One Tree Hill co-star Chad Michael Murray during their time on the show, though things did not end well with that relationship. She also dated OTH co-stars James Lafferty for a short while and Austin Nichols for quite some time before the two split shortly after the show’s final episode.

Bush also dated Google executive Dan Fredinburg from 2013 to 2014, though the two had split before he died in an avalanche on Mount Everest earlier this year. Despite having split, Sophia was vocal about her heartbreak over Dan’s death, and she wrote a touching tribute letter to him recently in honor of his birthday that she posted on Instagram.

While Sophia Bush and Jesse Lee Soffer may be in a good place together off-screen, the Season 3 premiere of their show has both of their characters in a rough place. Both stars have teased the Wednesday night premiere, and TVLine shared some Chicago P.D. spoilers.

Lindsay and Halstead were both struggling at the end of Season 2, and that’s where things pick up in Season 3. Lindsay says she’s not returning to work, and she’s more focused on partying than intelligence work. However, fans certainly are rooting for her to come to her senses and for the pair to reunite.

Will Halstead and Lindsay find their way back to one another in this new season? Chicago P.D. spoilers from TV Guide indicate that it could take a while. Executive producer Matt Olmstead says that it will take some time, and there are more pressing matters at hand for both of them in these early Season 3 episodes.

Also ahead in the September 30 premiere, Ruzek and Burgess are seemingly happy in the wake of their engagement, but that doesn’t mean it’ll be entirely smooth sailing ahead. Viewers will also see some intriguing revelations thanks to Olinsky’s daughter coming around to shake things up.
