Drake And Future Dissing Rihanna, Ciara On ‘What A Time To Be Alive’? Fans React On Twitter

Drake and Future may be enjoying the success of their collaborative mixtape, What a Time to Be Alive, but did the duo take shots at ex-girlfriends Rihanna and Ciara on the project?

While some fans are gushing over the surprise release of Drake and Future’s new mixtape, which debuted at No. 1 on the U.S. album sales charts, others are more interested in the content of What a Time to Be Alive, namely a handful of tracks that appear to take aim at their respective exes.

With the drama surrounding Future and Ciara’s breakup and fans still holding out hope that Drake and Rihanna may reunite in the future, there is a lot of attention surrounding What a Time to Be Alive’s alleged diss tracks, “Diamonds Dancing,” “Live From The Gutter,” “Digital Dash,” and “Jumpman.”

According to Vibe, both Drake and Future appear to take shots at Rihanna and Ciara in several lines from What a Time to Be Alive.

In Drake and Future’s track “Live from the Gutter,” Future seemingly disses ex-girlfriend Ciara when he raps, “I watched my broad give up on me like I’m average / I went back inside the attic count it up and started laughing, ha.”

Meanwhile, Drake focuses on taking aim at Meek Mill, Chris Brown’s ex, Karrueche Tran, and those ghostwriting claims on What a Time to Be Alive.

While the rapper’s most aggressive diss track, “Diamonds Dancing,” was originally thought to be about Nicki Minaj, some fans believe that Drake may be throwing shade at his former relationship with Rihanna instead.

According to sources close to Drake, Drake has denied rumors that suggest What a Time to Be Alive and “Diamonds Dancing” are intended to be diss tracks aimed at Nicki Minaj, Urban Islandz reports.

The source explains that Drake would never diss Nicki Minaj in a record because he feels it would be disrespectful, further explaining that Drake would rather “give her a call” than take subtle shots at her in a diss track.

Similarly, the insider explains that “Diamonds Dancing” was recorded before Drake and Meek Mill’s infamous beef took place, further suggesting that Drake may be dissing Rihanna on the track instead.

In “Diamonds Dancing,” Drake raps about an ex “doing me dirty” after she cuts off all means of communication following their breakup.

“You doing me dirty / How we let it get like this I don’t know / But that n***a can’t save your soul, nah / Doing me dirty, you doing me dirty / Haven’t even heard from you / How can you live with yourself / Ungrateful, ungrateful / I’m too good for you, too good for you.”

Drake and Rihanna called off their on-again-off-again romance in 2014 and have since remained mum regarding the reason for their split. While some rumors suggest that Drake is the one who called off the romance to focus on his music career, other reports suggest that Rihanna may have ended things with Drake to pursue another romance.

While neither Drake nor Future have spoken out regarding the inspiration behind their diss tracks, fans have taken to social media to speculate about the duo dissing both Rihanna and Ciara on What a Time to Be Alive.

One fan writes, “Drake throwing shots at Rihanna on ‘Diamonds Dancin,'” while another adds, “Drake take shots at Rihanna on this tape,” before adding the side-eyes emoji.

Similarly, another fan explains, “Drake singing to Rihanna here lmaoo,” while another user alleges, “Drake and Future had Rihanna’s and Ciara’s Wikipedia pages up respectfully when recording diamonds dancing.”

Currently, neither Rihanna nor Ciara have spoken out about the alleged diss tracks from Drake and Future.
