Amanda Seyfried and Justin Long Break Up! Find Out How It Happened
Amanda Seyfried and Justin Long have joined the long list of Hollywood couple break-ups, ending their two-year courtship. A friend to both Long and Seyfried says that although Amanda and Justin had broken up a couple of weeks ago, Long is still heartbroken over the separation.
Strangely, it was Amanda who initiated the romance with Justin and the actress said that her advances were prompted over a picture posted on Long’s Instagram account.
“I thought something he said was really funny,”Amanda said. “It was a beautiful picture of a snail, and the caption said, ‘F——g MOOOOOOOOVE.’ It made me laugh out loud, so I texted him.”
Recently, it seems Justin’s sense of humor wasn’t quite enough to keep Amanda feeling close to him, because, although Long was fond of saying that they were “in it for the long haul” as a couple, others saw things differently. Friends of Seyfried and Long reported that they had noticed a distancing between the couple for quite some time.
“They had different schedules and different lives,” one source told US Weekly of the Amanda Seyfried and Justin Long split. “They just grew apart.”
It seems Seyfried didn’t share Justin’s view on the strength of their relationship, because she said in a recent Vogue interview that career obligations had really been taking a toll on her personal life.
“Making movies is two solid months of 12-, 14-hour days. I mean, it can ruin your relationship.”
While Seyfried has been acting for quite some time, she revealed that a Letterman appearance had her so nervous that she gulped shots of Jameson before going out on stage. Amanda said that, while the on-camera interview seemed fun at the time, she watched it later and was embarrassed by how visibly drunk she was in the clip. Deciding to go a different route in dealing with her anxieties, Ms. Seyfried took her problems to a therapist.
“I have a lot of anxiety that I’ve been struggling with my whole life,” Amanda says. “So I have been working through it. I’m terrified, but this is exactly what I wanted.”
Oddly, Amanda Seyfried told Vogue that dating Justin Long was very comfortable and she commented on how being apart from Long was equally okay with the Ted actress.
“I really do have my own identity, both inside and outside the relationship, if that makes any sense,” Ms. Seyfried said. “It just feels right. It’s also really good to feel OK being alone.”
Amanda had said that Justin’s closeness to his family was something else that she loved about him and that the couple had recently been back to Allentown to visit Long’s parents. Seyfried said she had enjoyed the experience so much that it had saddened her to leave.
It’s terribly sad to see how quickly a relationship can go sour, as seems to be the case with Amanda Seyfried and Justin Long, particularly with such fond memories having been shared so publicly. While some sources close to both Seyfried and Long have confirmed that the two had grown apart in recent months, it seems there are other friends, particularly those close to Amanda, that tell a different story.
According to Page Six, Ms. Seyfried wasn’t as committed to the relationship with Long as it may have seemed and Amanda’s own friends have said that she had been showing interest in a potential new boyfriend. The problem escalated, added the source, when Justin began talking about marriage with Seyfried.
“He wanted to get married, she wasn’t ready to make the commitment,” the source said.
