Did Beckett Leave Castle On Season 8 Of ‘Castle?’ [Spoiler]
Season 8 of Castle has gotten off to an odd start. In the first episode, Beckett was supposed to start her new job as precinct captain, and Rick Castle was supposed to be working cases at Richard Castle Investigations, but all bets were off when Beckett disappeared, never showing up for her first day of work.
The Inquisitr reported that this season would find Beckett in her new job, and Castle focused on his investigation firm, working with his daughter Alexis. At no point did the show’s creators indicate that Castle would be rehashing old storylines about Beckett’s mother and her death, but that seems to be where the show is heading.
At the end of Episode 2, Beckett walks out on Castle with no explanation, leaving fans to wonder if the storyline with one lead character or the other disappearing or being kidnapped.

According to Us Magazine, the creators of Castle are hoping that fans will stick around to find out why Beckett walked out on Castle willingly.
“Here’s what we’re hoping, that the audience sticks around long enough to see next week and realize that this is just the beginning,” Hawley said of the split. “We’re using this to actually put the spark back in, and the stakes back in, which give us the fun and the juice… Obviously there’s some heartbreak in it as well, but it makes it much more emotionally impactful every week, because there are stakes now.”
Castle has asked Beckett if she could truly be happy as “just his wife.” She seems drawn back to the case that is her mother’s murder and the group that was behind the crime.
“Last season, Beckett tried to be the happy wife and great detective, but what the case that launches this season did is make her realize that there’s something a little ‘broken’ inside of her. Hopefully by solving this, she will come face to face with what she needs to get out of it.”

International Business Times says that all will be revealed in Episode 3, called “PhDead.” When we last saw Beckett and Castle, she was saying goodbye, that she loved him, and walking out the door after he had made them dinner. In Episode 3, Castle goes undercover as a university professor when the body of a frat boy turns up brutally murdered. But Castle is working on this case unsolicited, and once again, stepping on Beckett’s toes.
“Working cases together is why she fell in love with me,” the writer promises in the teaser, confident that his sleuth skills will woo Beckett all over again.
But will they, or will Beckett decide that she prefers to do things all on her own?

But there’s a twist. Yibada is reporting that Castle might be at risk of immediate cancellation, as ratings have tanked after fans were disenchanted with Castle returning to old storylines.
“The series may have received a following in its 8-year run but some critics perceive that it may be time to say goodbye to Castle and Beckett’s story. Some claim that the repetitive storyline could be the reason why the viewers are slowly losing interest, resulting to a drop in ratings.”
