Katie Holmes Brings Daughter Suri Onstage At Global Citizen Festival For Surprise Treat

The 2015 Global Citizen Festival was quite the star-studded event as Manhattan’s Central Park saw scheduled performances from the likes of Coldplay, Ariana Grande, Ed Sheeran, and the First Lady herself, Michelle Obama. Katie Holmes also made a celebrity appearance at the event and gave the crowd a surprising treat when she brought her adorable 9-year-old daughter, Suri Cruise, on stage. Holmes was scheduled to give a speech at the Global Citizen Festival, which aims to bring awareness to social issues affecting the global community, for example, extreme poverty.

Suri’s visit was brief but caused a pretty big excitement as her mom coaxed her to give the crowd of tens of thousands a little wave. The 36-year-old actress shares custody of Suri with her ex husband, Tom Cruise, and they both tend to keep the youngster out of the public eye. The impromptu stage appearance at the Global Citizen Festival was a rare one. Suri has long been noted to be the spitting image of her fashion forward mother and it becomes ever more noticeable as she gets older.

Katie Holes shares little pictures of her life on her IG page and her daughter, Suri, occasionally makes little appearances. One of the most recent Suri pictures to grace Holmes’ Instagram page shows the little artist with a spray paint can helping with an art project. Suri’s face is as usual not showing in the photograph though.

Suri was dressed in grey leggings with a pink and white dress over it and completed the outfit with a knit sweater. Holmes herself was rocking a black snakeskin print leather jacket paired with skinny black jeans at the free Global Citizen Festival in Central Park. A print top added some much needed color to Holmes’ otherwise dark ensemble. Daily Mail showed the actress with a chic purse to tie her look together. The last time Suri was intentionally placed into the spotlight was earlier this year when she was again her mother’s date to attend the Kid’s Choice Awards. This appearance was certainly the largest crowd the 9-year-old had been introduced to though.

Naturally, at such a star-studded event, Suri Cruise was not the only celebrity child to make an appearance. Chris Martin, Coldplay’s front man also had his children in attendance. People Magazine reports that Apple, 11, and Moses, 9, were spotted dancing in the front row as their father performed. Martin has the two kids with actress and singer Gwyneth Paltrow, who was also in attendance at the Global Citizen Festival.
