Connecticut woman Gloria Drummer is getting some media attention lately because of a situation she allegedly instigated at a West Hartford CVS pharmacy. The Dreamin’ Demon reports that the 57-year-old woman assaulted another woman in an attack that still has authorities scratching their heads.
Reports indicate that Drummer viciously attacked another woman in the parking lot of the CVS — an attack that could have ended the other woman’s life. Witnesses saw the woman wielding a knife before she plunged it into the skull of the 27-year-old victim, who hasn’t been named in media reports. She was reportedly seen stabbing the woman “several times” in the head using an 8- to 10-inch knife. After the stabbing victim fell to the ground, Drummer was reportedly heard shouting at her.
“You lucky I didn’t scalp you.”
PIX 11 News reports that the younger female victim was a complete stranger to Gloria Drummer, who had allegedly been seen earlier inside of the CVS. She was reportedly seen looking for cigarettes while mumbling incoherently to herself. Her victim was reportedly taken to the hospital and treated for the knife wounds in her head, which were not fatal.
The 57-year-old West Hartford woman was arrested by authorities after allegedly stabbing the random woman in the head. She was also taken to the hospital, where she was put under evaluation. She is now being held on bond in the amount of $100,000.
This isn’t the first time someone has attacked a random stranger while at a very public place. There are also plenty of reports of planned attacks in public places. Earlier this year a woman was arrested in Saco, Maine, after she attacked another woman in a Shaw’s Supermarket. While the attack had previously been thought to be random, it was learned later that the 31-year-old suspect planned the fatal attack. Just a month prior to the Maine stabbing, a 13-year-old British schoolboy was attacked by a random stranger at a public intersection. The child was stabbed by the stranger, leaving him to suffer horrific, life-threatening injuries. Also this year, a Minnesota teen was the victim of a violent slashing, allegedly committed by a 30-year-old man. Authorities say that the recent slashing attack was a random act of violence.
While Gloria Drummer’s alleged victim recovers from her wounds, authorities haven’t announced any charges associated with attempted murder. However, the Connecticut woman has been charged with first-degree assault and breach of peace.
