After former Lost co-star Dominic Monaghan tweeted that Matthew Fox beats women, it was pretty much in the cards that Fox would quickly issue a denial. And now that has happened. Well, sort of.
Originally, Monaghan tweeted the allegation, saying that Fox, “beats women. not isolated incidents.often …” The story went viral, so it was only a matter of time before Fox clarified or denied the charges of his former co-star. Well, Fox hasn’t done exactly that yet, but sources have told TMZ that the allegations aren’t true. Not Fox himself, but sources close meaning…
Well, we don’t know.
But the rant couldn’t have possibly come out of nowhere, could it? Sources also say that Monaghan and Fox haven’t spoken for years, but are supposedly on good terms, so why would he make it up? Unless it was a poor attempt at humor.
In any case, the spokesperson (remember, not Fox himself) said that Fox has “never beaten a woman in his life,” and then humorously (read: inappropriately) added, “because they usually go down in one punch.” Nice one, Fox’s spokesperson. That’ll throw them off the scent.
The Blemish opined on the story humorously, containing an ounce of our own skepticism regarding the matter, saying, “Wait, does this count as a denial? This isn’t coming from Matthew Fox directly. It’s a source connected to him which I take it to mean it’s his agent. Is his agent a woman? Because that could explain things. Especially if she ended the denial with, ‘and no, Matthew Fox is definitely not next to me pounding his fist into his palm.’”
A female bus driver did accuse Fox of punching her in the… ahem… vagina last year. Fox denied it and no charges were filed against him.
