Michelle Rounds Suicide Attempt: Rosie O’Donnell Comforted Ex, Stayed On Phone During Apparent Overdose Until Police Arrived

Rosie O’Donnell and ex Michelle Rounds have been locked in a bitter divorce and custody dispute, but a hospitalization and health scare has reportedly brought them closer together again.

This week, Rounds was hospitalized for what was reported as an apparent overdose. As she dealt with the crisis, Rounds reportedly connected with Rosie for support.

People reported that Rosie O’Donnell was on the phone with Michelle Rounds during the incident and helped talk her through until paramedics could arrive and take her to the hospital.

It appears that the incident was more than just an accidental health scare. Radar Online reported that Michelle Rounds had checked into a hotel and was attempting suicide.

This suicide attempt was closely related to the drama with Rosie O’Donnell, the report noted. Aside from the very public breakup, the two had been fighting privately, insiders claimed, and it was a recent fight that apparently put Rounds over the edge.

The Radar Online report filled in some of the details of the alleged suicide attempt.

“She was reportedly alone, without Dakota, 2, the adopted daughter at the center of her nasty custody fight with O’Donnell.

“The hotel is near Rounds’ residence in Nyack, where O’Donnell also owns a home. As Radar reported, O’Donnell recently moved her new girlfriend, Tatum O’Neal, into her home.”

But despite the bad blood the two have had in recent months, Michelle Rounds reportedly connected with Rosie during the overdose. It is not clear which party reached out to the other.

Rosie’s help may have made a difference. A concerned party called police, who came to the hotel room and had to break down the door to reach Michelle Rounds.

“She had apparently taken some pills and drank wine,” an insider told Radar Online. “It looked to be a suicide attempt ”

Before the suicide attempt, it seemed that Rosie was the last person who Rounds might reach out to in a time of crisis. Rounds and O’Donnell had been taking part in a very acrimonious divorce battle, with accusations being thrown by both parties.

“Michelle was very depressed lately over the divorce and custody battle with Rosie,” the insider reveals. “In fact, in the past few days her and Rosie spoke and they had a bitter argument.”

Michelle Rounds is seeking sole custody of their 2-year-old daughter, Dakota, a move that Rosie slammed back in April. A rep for O’Donnell said the move was absurd, and a “desperate attempt to use a child for her own gain.”

Rosie O’Donnell has other family turmoil. Last month, her 18-year-old daughter, Chelsea, went missing and was later found with an alleged heroin addict. Chelsea later moved out of the home she shared with her mother.

The drama has apparently been hitting Rosie hard, People reported.

“O’Donnell has shared several poignant messages on social media recently, retweeting a picture of a quote about not giving up “when your heart becomes tired” on Thursday, as well as retweeting a follower who advised O’Donnell to deal with “emotional discord” by meditating.”

Rosie later posted online a picture collage of her family, one that included a shot of Chelsea in apparently happier times.

It is unclear what the latest turn in the saga could mean for Rosie O’Donnell and Michelle Rounds in their court battles. If it is true that Rosie helped coach her ex through an apparent overdose, it could soften the tone of the divorce hearings and possibly help them come to a more agreeable conclusion. And if the reports of an apparent suicide attempt are true, it could also shift the child custody hearings toward Rosie O’Donnell.
