Conservative Radio Host “Mancow” Waterboarded, now says its torture

mancow-waterboarded

Chicago conservative radio host Erich “Mancow” Muller decided that there was only one way to silence critics of waterboarding, and that was to get waterboarded himself to prove that the technique isn’t torture.

In a controlled environment Mancow was waterboarded, and lasted 6 seconds, despite claiming before hand that he’d last 30-60 seconds. But this is where it gets interesting, because an exercise to prove waterboarding isn’t torture instead proved to Mancow that it was.

“It is way worse than I thought it would be, and that’s no joke,” Mancow said. “It is such an odd feeling to have water poured down your nose with your head back… It was instantaneous… and I don’t want to say this: absolutely torture.

Here’s the Mancow waterboarding video. Note some people may find the waterboarding scene distressing.

Let's do Rush Limbaugh next please. Then Cheney.

  2. Fascinating. My initial impression was with Mancow's initial view on this one – it's just dumping water on someone, what's the big deal? However, it doesn't take that much water for someone to drown, and it sounds like the angle at which his head was tilted was what did him in.

At least Mancow had the GUTS to be waterboarded. Unlike Super-Coward Sean Hannity, who bragged that he could withstand waterboarding, only to CHICKEN out. Sean Hannity, Rush LImbaugh, Dick Cheney and other right-wing nuts cases, are simply put: Super-Blowhards, Super-Cowards. They are an embarrassment to the human race.

He should be ashamed to call himself an American what he calls torture is nothing compared to what terrorists do to us if we are captured. Do you really think sir for one second that they care what kind of care that they offer the Americans while either in their custody or on their soil, I know not! I can’t believe what I just saw and what this country is putting up with kowtowing to whiners that think we should treat terrorist like precious little snow flakes that will break if you touch them, demand answers, or hold them accountable for their actions.

  5. Yeah. We should act exactly like the craphole 3rd world countries they come from.

No, sorry, what makes us better than them is the fact that WE ARE BETTER THAN THEM. We're not lowlifes who stoop to their same level. We don't live in filth. We're better than them. And, because we're better than them, we're better than them in every way.

And that means they don't get tortured here BECAUSE WE'RE BETTER THAN THEM.

Unless of course you think it's better for us to be lowlifes like them. But, sorry, I'm an American, America is the best country there is, and therefore, we always do it way better than everyone else. If you want to live in a country where torture is greatly endorsed, I'd suggest you move to one of those hellhole third world countries yourself- you seem to love what they do there.

PS- The three times they've admitted to waterboarding (first it was none, then one, now three, so who knows how many it really is) they were only attempting to get these people to implicate Iraq being involved with 9/11 somehow, which anyone with half a brain knows is very much not true. Hell, the vast majority of the 9/11 assholes were from Saudi Arabia, not Iraq, but no one mentions that because we get along with the tyrannical Saudi monarchy and they give us cheaper oil.

  6. Well, thank God you are not in charge of anything connected to this, thewendyjx. First of all, “but they do it to us” is not an argument. The argument should be “we are better than them”. It's called “the moral high ground”. Without it, there is no longer a side that can legitimately call itself “the good guys”. Try to understand this, and remember that the US executed waterboarders on the grounds that the method DID constitute torture. Second, you are STILL under the misapprehension that torture can produce any useable intelligence. It cannot. Third, you are STILL greatly underestimating the effect of waterboarding. I guarantee you that you would not last a second longer than those “precious little snow flakes”. You do not relinquish any rights, nor do prevent yourself from holding prisoners accountable, by treating them humanely. If you do not, however, you lose every possible justification for every one of your actions.
As to who has the right to call themselves Americans, I believe that this right has something to do with unwavering belief in universal and inalienable human rights — that goes for your enemies as well! — and the ability to think and reconsider your beliefs and opinions, even if and especially if this will lead you to admit you were wrong, and to change your mind. On that count, Erich Muller has more right to call himself an American than you do for now.

  8. My GOD what a freakin pussy …… jumper cables, tin snips to the fingers, hammer to the toes or balls. THATS torture you wimp. Hey puss i'll bet you 1000 bucks I could easily last 10 times longer than you and I wouldn't be a baby about it. Sad….I was right….America is full of wimps.

  9. Hey csense……you can keep your “moral high ground” and get your azz pounded into the dirt. If you play by those stupid rules you might as well hand over your azz to the 72 virgin idiots cause you already lost. Dumb azz war completly sucks. You want to win or do you want your whole society bulldosed over? moron ….WAKE UP they play to win we play to be nice nice……WRONG! Maybe next time it will be one of YOUR family members that looses a head…..THEN you will understand.

All I was saying is that we have become a door mat way too long and what is coming out of the woodwork is not exactly true or how it is described. The media is blowing these methods or supposed tortures way out of proportion as if they are going for ratings and to yank a wad in our bvd’s. People would be amazed to know what goes on behind closed doors when the cameras and dignitary’s are gone. Yes, some are bad apples but that goes with every facet of life but that is only a few out of the mix of thousands of thousands of great, honorable, men and women that give their life every day for this country. I am a proud member of a military family from my husband’s side and mine they go up at least three or four generations each. Do you really think The United States Of America would stoop to such low and third-world techniques as torture, I think not we are too smart for that and too prideful of that get a grip folks what you see is not the whole picture or story you will never and should never know that is the smartest way so we can be on-top and keep ahead of the bad guys.

At least he had the balls to do it. Thinking that you're drowning sucks. Not being able to stop the procedure *really* sucks.

We are a better country than this.

  13. Your missing the point… Your lizard brain has become to dominant. Waterboarding is Illegal, It is a War Crime, We prosecuted the Vietnamese for doing the same thing Dick Cheny orderd done to others, All of the rest of the discussion is hiperbile. It is a crime and we are better than that! Wake people before we become what we hate.

  14. Get in Line moron.. Your nuts will shrivel, you will curl into the fetal position and whimper like a little girl until your mommy comes to pick you up.

  15. Wow your logic is really twisted. The terrorists, who we think are BAD people, do bad things. Therefore, we, who are supposed to be better than them, should also do bad things.

Choosing not to force someone to repeatedly experience the sensation of drowning is NOT “treating them like precious little snowflakes.” It's called basic human decency.

  16. Not surprisingly, this does nothing to quiet those who deny that we tortured anyone. So it's torture, fine, it was still right in their view. Even if you gave them incontrovertible prro that Americans died because of it, they would still be in favor of torture. The feeling of power and security they derive from brutality is little different from the feelings of the torturers themselves. Their feeling that their cause justifies barbarism is the same as that of the Bin Ladens of the world. It's no surprise that a recent survey found conservative religious believers more supportive of torture. It takes a righteous certitude to torture or support torture.

  17. The notion that if we maintain our honor and don't become as vicious as our enemies we'll be defeated is ridiculous. Al Queda is not the Waffen SS. Even if heaven forbid they did 9/11 times ten, our democracy would not crumble unless we destroy it ourselves. Gen. Washington ruled out torture at a time when our very existence as ne new nation was really at risk. If there are any “wimps” around today, it is those who would give up our most precious values because they are trembling at the tiny possibility that Bin Laden is going to kill them in their sleep.

  18. You're not a smart person.

  19. put your money where your mouth is, super hero.

I AGREE with @thewendyjx 100%. With the kind of crap terrorists do to Americans as torture, it's an absolute joke for anybody to call waterboarding inhumane. Try having your finger cut off and tell me how “Inhumane” waterboarding is! @Chicken Hawk Cheney: There is nothing “right-wing nuts case” about defending this country. Frankly, I think it's shameful that there are people in this country who feel that way!

“I believe that forgiving them is God's function. Our job is simply to arrange the meeting.”
    -General Norman Schwarzkopf

I agree with luch. You need an “edumication” as I like to call it.

There are things such as books and newspapers. Please read them. Also, you may want to have a little looksy at our CONSTITUTION. It will hopefully teach you some things you should know about America's “moral high ground”. I know you like football, kegs, chest bumping, and general douche-baggery, but this is not a game. It's not counter-strike; our “team” can't simply “win”. This is a complex situation for adults with brains.

There will be serious repercussions for us if we continue to allow torture. If you are one of the small-minded individuals who still think torture is effective, I suggest you pick up a history book and review the events of Spanish Inquisition.

I, for one, no longer want the fate of this country to rest on some gun-totin', lasso-throwin', war-mongerin', ill-educated cowboys.

Thank God our current president can at least form a complete sentence.

Hey “tough guy”…why not man-up then? Or are you going to pull a Hannity on us? Make a youtube video of yourself being waterboarded and post the link on this forum.

If you don't, then you are no less of a coward and we can also tack on to that, LIAR. But I could guess that you don't care about that either. Lies and Republicans go together better than PB & J. One of the hardest things that one can do is admit they were wrong. Mancow did that and I give him a lot of credit for it. Not to mention the fact that he actually agreed to get waterboarded, which takes some guts. So far he's got more courage than you (and probably gets way more pussy than you do). Wanna prove me wrong?

Ok…so there are these things called facts.

Facts are written in reports by credible institutions and knowledgeable people within a field and are then disseminated by journalists and those who specialize in media and the distribution of information. See Red Cross report on waterboarding (not created by a media source, but by an independent medical institution)…http://www.nybooks.com/icrc-report.pdf
    http://www.nybooks.com/articles/22614

Then there is you. You spew unoriginal opinions and conspiracy theories, portraying them as facts. Please correct me if I'm wrong, but you have no real knowledge of the medical specifics of waterboarding, but you somehow just “feel” that it is the equivalent of someone pouring a dixie cup of water over someone's head. Did it ever occur to you that “enhanced interrogation techniques” could be a euphemism for TORTURE?

  25. So waterboarding is torture.
I irrigate my nasal passages voluntairly about once a week.

  26. I guess because they cutoff our heads that makes waterboarding ok. Nevermind the fact that we've already murdered countless innocent civilians in both Iraq and Afghanistan with our rampant bombing. What was their crime? Living in the wrong place at the wrong time? Waterboarding is useless as an interrogation tool but I guess if your logic comes down to the fact that you just want revenge against Al-Qaida, then waterboarding becomes ok. Otherwise, what benefit do you think it serves.

  27. Internet tough guys. Serious business.

You are an idiot. Dick or Rush have never claimed that they would do it, then not do it. Plus, it is not “torture” by any stretch of the imagination. The sick stuff they did in the middle ages is torture. Also, why are all you liberals(traitors) so stuck on defending enemies of this country that have killed/plot to kill our civilians? Just a question there. If it is so bad here, move to China, Jordan, or Russia.

Iraq is involved…. LOL From Saudi Arabia? Oh yeah, that is why the Saudis forced Osama out of the country, and he was in exile in Khartum for most of the 90s. Every Arab nation has people that hate the white man/western world. We are better than them? But not if we 'waterboard' huh? Lets see, they cut off body parts with a hacksaw, we waterboard. Now, tell me which one is worse? You are a un-informed idiot.
