‘Assassin’s Creed Syndicate’ Release Date May Change Everything About Ubisoft’s Flagship Series

The Assassin’s Creed Syndicate release date is nearing, and it could be what Ubisoft needs to break them free of their current stigma. Customers have complained about the gameplay getting stale and recycled after five main installments, two main spin-offs, several DLC missions, and an attempt to make a console side-scroller.

Not all DLC missions worked as well as those for Assassin’s Creed II, which added to the main storyline, but Ubisoft shows no signs of stopping. As previously reported by the Inquisitr, Syndicate is already getting DLC, featuring notorious serial killer Jack the Ripper. Knowing how the games have always fitted real world people into their own versions of reality, Jack may end up being a rogue assassin who developed a taste for needless murder.

Other DLC for the game includes The Last Maharaja missions, which follow in the footsteps of previous DLC spin-offs such as Liberation and Freedom Cry. They put you in the shoes of different characters other than the one you played as in the main game, with a more simplified story. Thankfully, this recycling of concepts isn’t a complete indication of the upcoming game arriving on the Assassin’s Creed Syndicate release date.

Ubisoft’s latest in the ongoing series allegedly shows the progress made in development for current-gen consoles. The PlayStation 4 and Xbox One have been out almost two years now, and the experience is starting to show in upgraded visuals and a moving headquarters à la Mission: Impossible – Ghost Protocol. London is set to be a more exciting place than the lackluster Paris from Unity.

One of the biggest changes to come on the Assassin’s Creed Syndicate release date will be new methods of travel. The game will take a tip from such popular titles as Grand Theft Auto V and Batman: Arkham Knight, not only offering an expansive city to explore, but more than just the parkour and horses from titles past.

In previous Assassin’s Creed titles, you had to find ways to climb walls or navigate trees to get anywhere you couldn’t reach on foot. Ubisoft is giving you more options now, allowing you to take the reigns of stagecoaches, GTA style. This new mechanic is almost a dry version of what Black Flag did with ships, but much faster and less permanent. Early on in the game, you also need to fight one of London’s gangs on the roof of a moving train. This mode of transportation which could easily bring you vast distances more quickly, as revealed by Games Radar.

Another way to get around on the Assassin’s Creed Syndicate release date will be with the rope launcher. Taking a queue from the Batman: Arkham series, you can cross the city-scape balancing on a literal tightrope, so you don’t have to stick to the rooftops.

The parkour is still there, with separate buttons for moving upward or downward along walls and such, but the grappling hook will also helps speed things up on the Assassin’s Creed Syndicate release date. These methods of travel aren’t as fast as those in Rocksteady’s series, but they do add a new dimension of movement which previous games in the series didn’t offer.

When the Assassin’s Creed Syndicate release date hits, you will also have a choice of characters for the first time. Instead of playing as different versions of Arno in Unity‘s multiplayer, you can actually choose between a male and a female protagonist, whose gameplay differences might make the missions easier based on their specialties. Eurogamer also says that one of the characters handing out quests will be a transgender male, including the LGBTQ dimension in the NPC interactions.

The game’s opening statement was changed to reflect the following.

“Inspired by historical events and characters, this work of fiction was designed, developed, and produced by a multicultural team of various beliefs, sexual orientations and gender identities.”

One more thing will be back from previous games after ACII though. You will be able to craft weapons again on the Assassin’s Creed Syndicate release date of October 23. It’s unknown if this will extend beyond Black Flag‘s darts and outfits, possibly including Dead Island style melee weapons, but we’ll all know when the game hits.
