Carly Fiorina Tackles Abortion, Planned Parenthood [Video]
Republican presidential hopeful Carly Fiorina seems to be making it her mission to take on the world of abortion. A passionate pro-life activist, Carly Fiorina has spoken out harshly against the termination of live fetuses for the convenience of the mother.

Fiorina draws a comparison of people in the U.S. who will stop at nothing to save other species, such as flies and frogs from harm, but think it perfectly acceptable to abort a human baby, reports CNN.
“The character of this nation cannot be about butchery of babies for body parts. (Liberals) are perfectly prepared to destroy other people’s jobs and livelihoods and communities in order to protect fish and frogs and flies, but they do not think a 17-week-old, a 20-week-old, a 24-week old (baby) is worth saving.”
In her attempt to combat abortion, Carly Fiorina visited a pregnancy crisis center in South Carolina earlier this week. These types of centers differ from organizations like Planned Parenthood in that they have resources for women with unplanned pregnancies. They help with food, clothing, baby needs, formula, and more. Pregnancy crisis centers do not abort babies. Rather, they counsel mothers to complete the pregnancy. Seeing an ultrasound image of the baby goes a long way to helping most women choose to give the gift of life, whether they plan on keeping the baby or giving him/her up for adoption.
Carly Fiorina praised the work of the Carolina Pregnancy Center in Spartanburg, reports NPR. Fiorina was invited to watch an ultrasound of patient Lacey Thomas, 31, whose baby boy is due in February. Thomas’ first experience with the pregnancy center happened a few years ago when she was carrying her daughter, who is three years old. Lacey had lost her job, and her husband’s work in construction is inconsistent. She needed maternity clothes, and the center helped her with that and more.
According to Mother Jones, the Carly Fiorina campaign has released a video substantiating her claims during the second Republican debate regarding a supposed Planned Parenthood video of a “a fully formed fetus on the table, its heart beating, its legs kicking, while someone says we have to keep it alive to harvest its brain.”
After the debate, Carly Fiorina came under fire for referencing a video that did not exist. Fiorina now stands accused of creating her own video to add credence to her statement during the debate. Planned Parenthood contacted the Carly Fiorina campaign in writing, requesting that the video be taken down. Sarah Isgur Flores, spokeswoman for the Fiorina campaign, responded with an email.
“Carly is a cancer survivor and doesn’t need to be lectured on women’s health by anyone. Over their long and factually incorrect letter, Planned Parenthood doesn’t and can’t deny they butchering babies and selling their organs [sic]. This is about the character of our nation.”
