Stepdad Allegedly Broke Infant’s Bones While ‘Treating Her Roughly’

An Indiana stepdad is in trouble after he allegedly admitted to being too rough with his 10-week-old stepdaughter, causing numerous horrifying injuries. The Indy Star reports that 23-year-old William Turner faces various charges associated with child neglect and battery. These charges came to light after the young infant was rushed to the hospital by her mother, leading to the discovery of several broken bones.

The unnamed infant suffered an approximate 10 broken bones in her body, which included her legs and ribs. These injuries caused doctors to alert the authorities of possible abuse, which led to Turner’s alleged confession. The Indiana man reportedly told authorities that he had treated his 10-week-old stepdaughter in a rough manner, which may have caused the numerous injuries to her body. He was arrested shortly after his confession. He is being held on $10k bond, and is expected to be in court by mid-December. This will give him plenty of time to think about his allegedly admitted behavior.

Authorities have confirmed that Turner is the stepdad of the 10-week-old baby girl and two of her siblings. However, medical professionals examined the two siblings and found that they had not been abused. The Reporter-Times reports that the victim’s mother had recently married the man accused of breaking her baby’s bones. However, it hasn’t been clarified as to whether or not the mother will face any charges regarding the abuse of the baby. What has been reported, on the other hand, is that Turner had recently become abusive to his new wife. She claims that he had knocked her to the ground at least once. He has been ordered to have no contact with his victim, the baby’s siblings, and his wife.

This is not the first time that a stepdad has been accused of abusing the children in his care. In fact, it’s an extremely common occurrence in media headlines on a seemingly daily basis. Last year, a Brooklyn stepfather was accused of beating a three-year-old girl to death, along with the abuse that injured his five-year-old stepson. The body of the little girl was discovered in a homeless shelter, where she had been beaten for supposedly soiling herself. Earlier this year, an Alabama man was charged with murder after his five-year-old stepdaughter died from injuries sustained from beatings he had inflicted upon her. In 2013 a man beat his four-year-old stepson to death just 10 days after winning a custody battle with his wife against the boy’s biological dad.
