Ben Roethlisberger Earns AFC Player Of The Week Over Tom Brady.

According to the NFL, Quarterbacks Ben Roethlisberger and Tom Brady both had monumental days on Sunday, but Roethlisberger’s stats were just a little better.

Here’s how the stats compared:

Roethlisberger led the Steelers to a 43-18 win over the 49er’s. Brady led his Patriots to a 40-32 win over the Bills.

Roethlisberger and Brady both threw for 3 touchdowns in Sunday’s game.

Roethlisberger had 0 turnovers; Brady had 1 fumble which resulted in a turnover.

Roethlisberger had 369 yards compared to Brady’s 466 yards for the day.

Roethlisberger completed 78 percent of his passes on Sunday; Brady completed 64 percent.

Roethlisberger had a 155.8 quarterback rating compared to Brady’s 105.6 rating for the day.

According to the wpxi.com website, Roethlisberger has completed at least one touchdown pass in his last 33 straight home games, which gives him the second-longest touchdown streak and the sixth-longest streak in the history of the NFL. Roethlisberger has also been named the AFC Offensive Player of the Week twelve different times.

Ben is playing the best football of his career at the moment. In the last two weeks, he’s completed 10 passes that were 20 yards or more in the air. That’s twice as much as any other quarterback in the league has thrown.

What makes Ben Roethlisberger stand out?

One factor that caught everyone’s attention was that Roethlisberger was calling almost every play himself.

“I was calling almost every single play, and we were moving so fast, and that’s credit to our guys and the conditioning,” Roethlisberger said after the win. “We didn’t possess the ball very long tonight, but we put up the points.”

Roethlisberger likes to go with a no-huddle offense, and he likes to move fast. The Steelers got their plays off more than two seconds faster on average than the 49er’s did.

The Quarterback coach for the Steelers noted that “Roethlisberger has an opportunity on every play to make a change if he sees fit.”

Roethlisberger and the Steelers have also decided they like the two-point conversion. They have been trying for the two points more than any other team in the NFL.

“Oh, we’re going to keep doing it,” Roethlisberger said about the two point conversions, according to Jeremy Fowler of ESPN. “We don’t practice it this much to not do it. We practice it every single day. … I tried to tell you guys early on that we would do it, and I think you guys kind of didn’t quite believe it. But it’s something we feel comfortable with.

Roethlisberger added, “If you’re up 8-0 and they go score, they have a decision to make. We feel like we’re a team that’s going to do it enough that it’s going to be hard to get a beat on us.”
