Kanye West Praises Republican Ben Carson As He Prepares For ‘SWISH’ Release
Kanye West went against the grain of the entertainment industry by praising Republican presidential candidate Dr. Ben Carson. CNN quotes West.
“When I run for president, I’d prefer not to run against someone. I would be like ‘I want to work with you.’ As soon as I heard [Ben] Carson speak, I tried for three weeks to get on the phone with him. I was like this is the most brilliant guy.”
Kanye West recently gave an interesting and introspective interview to Vanity Fair and is still very serious about his presidential plans. Mr. West talked about the reaction people had when he first made the announcement last month.
“And then as soon as I said that, it was like, ‘Wait a second, we would really be into that, because actually if you think about it, he’s extremely thoughtful. Every time he’s ever gotten in trouble, he was really jumping in front of a bullet for someone else. He’s probably the most honest celebrity that we have.’ “
While the response to Kanye’s presidential bid hasn’t caused a huge uproar, not everybody is keen on the idea. An article on the topic from Us Weekly was followed by some harsh comments.
“Well if this article doesn’t prove just how delusional and out of touch with reality he is, I don’t know what will,” said commenter Shani.
“I wouldn’t trust this idiot at managing aisles 3-6 at the local Walgreen’s,” remarked dominus vobiscum.
Twitter isn’t thrilled with the prospect of President Kanye West, either.
Of course, the whole thing could be a huge publicity stunt. Kanye West, like Madonna or Kim Kardashian, certainly knows how to work the media. However, what’s most important to fans is the release of his upcoming album, SWISH. Kanye West didn’t give many details in the Vanity Fair interview, but hinted that it’s a possibility that the album may not end up being called SWISH.
“It’s currently called SWISH. I’m forgetting even what the last name of it was now.”
