Usher Secretly Wed His Longtime Girlfriend Over Labor Day Weekend – Why The Low Key Affair?

Usher has tied the knot with his longtime girlfriend-cum-manager, Grace Miguel. The wedding seems to have been a very private affair, hinting the two may have even eloped.

R&B singer Usher is now a married man, though the wedding was a very low-key affair. Usher had got engaged to his “incredible partner and manager” in January, and the duo seemed to be planning a summer wedding. Speaking about his partner, Usher had said the following.

“I have an incredible partner and manager. She has helped me through some of the hardest times in my life and my career. She’s someone who’s been able to support and understand all of who I am. Not just as a dancer or as a performer or as a singer, but as a humanitarian and a businessman and as a person.”

The marriage ceremony was expected to be a lavish affair, with about 100 guests. While everyone was expecting the marriage ceremony to happen soon, the duo secretly eloped over the Labor Day weekend in the U.S. at the beginning of this month, and even escaped to a honeymoon in Havana, Cuba, reported Us Magazine.

The couple’s Instagram even had a photo that indicated the lovebirds had eloped. Usher can be seen sporting a gold band in the couple’s photo.

A second photo Usher uploaded on his Instagram account with Ed Sheeran and Rita Ora also shows the wedding ring.

After a courtship of six long years, the couple got engaged in January and had planned a wedding, but decided to alter them at the very last minute for reasons best known to them. It is not clear if the couple had their close relatives and friends with them for the ceremony.

Grace is eight years senior to Usher, whose full name is Usher Terry Raymond IV. She has been managing Usher’s career for more than three years, but have been dating him for six. E! Online confirmed that Usher’s boys love their new mom, and they get along quite well. Looks like Usher has found a great partner, manager and a loving mom in a single package.
