WWE News: Major Internal Issues With WWE Bringing Back Past WWE Superstars

You may not have noticed it, but WWE has brought back quite a few past stars lately. In the next few weeks, we’re set to see about five current or future WWE Hall of Famers on WWE RAW. WWE is even bringing back The Undertaker and Brock Lesnar earlier than anyone anticipated because of the major need for a big rating. They are even putting the two in one of the most dangerous matches in WWE history, the Hell in a Cell.

The fans aren’t the only people against the idea of overusing former superstars. According to Daily Wrestling News, there continues to be dissension over relying on older stars to come back and work in top positions. It is thought that there are great workers on the show who are being pushed out by the former stars. WWE has put themselves in the weird position of bringing older stars, but they never seem to fully develop the new talent. As a result, they depend on former superstars to sell tickets and push the television ratings.

It is thought that talented wrestlers like Dean Ambrose, Cesaro, Roman Reigns, and Bray Wyatt will always be stuck in mid-card hell because the older stars are taking all of the WWE’s top spots. Many feel this is hurting the company’s future by holding back fresh talent in favor of stars from the past.

There is also some talk internally that fans are losing interest in Sheamus, Big Show, and Randy Orton. It is thought that WWE is forcing them on the fans, and the fans are are not happy about it. The fans have been quite vocal about their displeasure with these wrestlers, but WWE continues to feature them in show after show.

It has been quite apparent for some time now that the fans are not happy with Big Show’s prominent role in the ring. He is overused and not having quality matches anymore. Like Kane, he changes from face to heel every other month, and you have no idea what his role is anymore. He is a legit giant who can still move, but he is not capable of putting on the kind of matches the fans want to see in 2015.

Meanwhile, Sheamus has a lot left in the tank and can do well in the ring. However, WWE is not giving him opponents to work with that fans care about. In many of his matches, the other wrestler fails to put Sheamus over, which makes him look boring and infuriates the fans.

When it comes to Orton, he is one of the favorites in WWE with a lot left to give. However, WWE refuses to change his storyline, and it is getting boring. There needs to be something fresh done with him, or fans will continue not to care. That means we don’t need to see Orton/Sheamus for the 1000th time.

With tons of exciting NXT talent providing one amazing match after the other in their own shows, and so many young superstars in WWE wowing the crowd when they get a rare opportunity to show their stuff, the fans simply want something new and exciting. Big Show and Kane still have a role if they are used sparingly, but Orton and Sheamus need much better writing and opponents who can or will put them over if they are to remain relevant.

Whether or not WWE changes the things they are doing, and they manage to regain the fan’s interest remains to be seen. However, if they can give us unique stories and captivate us weekly, they won’t need older stars as often. On top of this, many WWE superstars, including the likes of Orton, Big Show, and Sheamus, could be used in quality matches and storylines that fans won’t hate less than five minutes.
