‘Call Of Duty: Black Ops 3’ And ‘FIFA 16′ Follow ‘Fallout 4’ As Consumers’ Most Anticipated Game

A leading consumer insight survey for Nielsen shows that, as of last week, Fallout 4 and Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 are the two titles that gamers claim to be their next purchase. Bethesda’s surprise announcement of Fallout 4 saw the next installment of the post-apocalyptic franchise to take the top spot, bumping this year’s Call of Duty game down to the second entry according to the survey’s most recent data.

The Nielsen insight group, which people will most likely recognize as the organization most responsible for figuring television ratings and viewership, regularly release similar findings from large-scale surveys covering many facets of entertainment and consumer rankings.

While the newest report shows that more people seem to now be looking ahead to Fallout 4 instead of Call of Duty: Black Ops 3, The Bit Bag argues that holding the No. 2 spot is still a big accomplishment for the aging Call of Duty franchise. After all, the Call of Duty series receives annual entries which means title’s with a less-frequent release schedule such as Fallout 4 will naturally generate higher interests. Furthermore, top analysts continue to predict a noticeable decline in Call of Duty‘s yearly performance, yet Black Ops 3 still remains towards the top of popular consumer surveys.

Joining Fallout 4 and Call of Duty as the most notable titles that gamers plan to purchase next are many of this holiday’s other big releases such as Star Wars Battlefront and Assassin’s Creed: Syndicate. Unsurprisingly, the new annual installments of each of the big sports games are also present on the list. This includes FIFA 16, Madden NFL 16, and NBA 2K16.

North America will also see its first official 1TB Playstation 4 bundle thanks to the upcoming launch of the Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 limited edition PS4 this November. The official Playstation Blog detailed the customized system, which will have an orange-trimmed color scheme in honor of the upcoming Call of Duty game.

“This PS4 features the Call of Duty: Black Ops III ember orange logo on a Jet Black chassis, complete with colored power and eject buttons, as well as three emblems on the front each representing a game mode — the SOG Skull signifies campaign, the Winslow Accord faction logo is pulled straight from the game’s fiction, representing one of the factions you play in multiplayer, and “the mark” denotes zombies.”

It’s possible that the Nielsen rankings for the top anticipated games may change in the coming weeks as the big release season approaches. To keep up player interest, Bethesda is currently running a weekly cartoon series featuring Fallout‘s Vault Boy. Smart publicity moves like this will continue to ensure a high demand for Fallout 4.
