Beyonce’s Weight Loss Didn’t Come Easy, Singer Herself Says

Beyonce’s weight loss after the birth of daughter Blue Ivy (whose dad is king of rap music Jay-Z) on January 8th may seem like the kind of thing that comes easy to stars, but Bey says she had to work very hard to shed pounds after the baby.

Beyonce’s weight loss of about 60 lbs. is definitely impressive if you’ve ever struggled to shed baby weight, and just about four months after Blue Ivy arrived, it’s definitely a massive achievement. But Beyonce isn’t claiming that she has no idea how the weight fell off in a happy haze of motherhood- the singer was up front with fans at her recent Atlantic City show, telling them that that body was the result of a lot of sweat and deprivation.

Of Beyonce’s weight loss, she explained during the concert at Revel Beach Ovation Hall on Saturday:

“Y’all have no idea how hard I worked! I had to lose 60 pounds. They had me on that treadmill. I ate lettuce!… Now tonight I’m gonna get chocolate wasted!”

However, Beyonce’s weight loss and her new hot body weren’t the only show-stealers Saturday night in AC- First Lady Michelle Obama was in attendance with daughters Sasha and Malia.

A spy at the show told the mag Us that Mrs. Obama rocked out with her girls to Beyonce’s hits, and reports:

“They sat up in a private balcony with Gayle King. Michelle was jamming out to ‘Crazy in Love,’ …When Beyonce told the crowd to get up and jump, [Malia and Sasha] stood and started dancing and jumping. They were shouting when Beyonce asked, ‘Do girls run the world?'”

“Together, all three of them did the ‘Single Ladies’ dance moves.”

Beyonce has not revealed the specifics behind what strategy she used to lose weight after becoming a mom.
