Mike Huckabee: Muslim Or Not, Obama Is ‘The Most Anti-Christian President Ever’

Mike Huckabee appears to be placing his bets for the 2016 GOP Presidential nomination on a full-scale assault of President Barack Obama and his standing as a Christian.

In a time when — the Hill reports — around 43 percent of Republicans believe that Obama is Muslim instead of Christian as he has said time and again, the former Arkansas governor has laid claim to the highest profile of these Obama Christianity deniers.

He was back at it this week when he declared President Obama “the most anti-Christian President” of all time. While that isn’t a direct implication that Obama is a Muslim, it’s not exactly a glowing endorsement for his actual faith either.

The comments were reported in a separate piece by the Hill, which noted that President Obama had sent invites to meet with the Pope to the “first openly gay Episcopal bishop, an activist nun, a transgender activist, and pro-abortion activists.

This didn’t sit well with Mike Huckabee.

“President Obama’s classless decision to transform Pope Francis’ visit to the White House into a politicized cattle call for gay and pro-abortion activists is an insult to millions of Catholics…. Why is it that Obama goes to extremes to accommodate Muslim terrorists but shows nothing but disdain for Christians? This is a new low for an administration that will go down as the most anti-Christian in American history.”

As if that wasn’t strong enough, Huckabee has also taken the criticisms to his Facebook page.

“President Obama bowed to a Saudi king and a Japanese emperor. This Administration even respected Osama bin Laden with an Islamic burial. Yet Obama disrespects millions of Christians on a regular basis…. Why does Obama go to extremes to accommodate Muslim terrorists but shows nothing but disdain for Christians?”

In a second Facebook post made today, he had this to say.

“Across America, unelected judges and out-of-control politicians are persecuting and prosecuting Christians for exercising their faith. Today, I’m hopeful Pope Francis will encourage President Obama to stop the killing of 1 million American babies each year and end the criminalization of Christianity in this country, which Obama can control, instead of just global weather patterns, which Obama cannot.”

Mike Huckabee joins fellow Republican candidates Ben Carson and Donald Trump in taking hardline, controversial approaches with regard to religion the last several days.

Trump is still dealing with fallout from the supporter, who called President Obama a Muslim in a question to the Donald, while Carson — not targeting Obama directly — said that he didn’t believe a Muslim should ever be allowed to become President.

What do you think, readers? Are comments like these and those from Mike Huckabee helping or hurting the GOP’s chances for 2016?
