NFL Picks Week 3: Jets Picked Over Eagles, Falcons Over Cowboys?
NFL picks for Week 3 begin with the New York Giants vs. Washington Redskins game. The Week 3 NFL picks from CBS have the analysts split on that game, with half of them picking the Giants and the half going for the Redskins. The report has the most successful analyst (Dave Richard at 20-12) going with the Redskins in that game from Thursday, September 24.
There are a number of unanimous selections for Week 3, with the CBS analysts stating that the New England Patriots beat the Jacksonville Jaguars, the Arizona Cardinals beat the San Francisco 49ers, the Seattle Seahawks beat the Chicago Bears, and the Green Bay Packers beat the Kansas City Chiefs. The Packers vs. Chiefs game is on Monday, September 28, with the analysts feeling Aaron Rodgers will easily take his Green Bay team to 3-0. In the Sunday night game from September 27, the Detroit Lions host the Denver Broncos, but CBS Sports has not submitted a prediction.
There are several other Week 3 NFL picks where only one or two analysts were in support of the underdog. The analysts have picked the Houston Texans over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, the Cincinnati Bengals over the Baltimore Ravens, the Pittsburgh Steelers over the St. Louis Rams, the Indianapolis Colts over the Tennessee Titans, the New York Jets over the Philadelphia Eagles, the Cleveland Browns over the Oakland Raiders, and the Atlanta Falcons over the Dallas Cowboys. It means they predict the Jets to improve to 3-0, the Eagles to fall to 0-3, and the Cowboys to lose Brandon Weeden’s first start.
For some reason, the CBS analysts also haven’t made a selection in the New Orleans Saints vs. Carolina Panthers game. It’s a very important match-up between two teams from the NFC South that need a victory in Week 3. Drew Brees is hobbled, giving the 2-0 Panthers a shot to knock the Saints to 0-3. The analysts feel that the Philadelphia Eagles, Baltimore Ravens, Chicago Bears, and New Orleans Saints will all fall to 0-3 on the season.
As for the teams predicted by CBS to move to 3-0, they include the Green Bay Packers, Atlanta Falcons, Carolina Panthers, New York Jets, New England Patriots, and Cincinnati Bengals. That’s at least six undefeated teams, with a possibility that the Denver Broncos could do so by beating the Detroit Lions as well. That would create a lot of separation in the early 2015 NFL standings, setting up some teams to be early Super Bowl favorites. Fans should expect the Week 3 NFL picks from CBS to be updated further on Thursday, September 24, as the analysts finalize their choices.
