Blake Shelton Weight Loss: ‘The Voice’ Coach Shed Pounds Doing Two Things

Singer Blake Shelton has apparently shed quite a few pounds in recent months — and it shows!

The 39-year-old Grammy nominee had a chance to show off his weight loss at the iHeartRadio Music Festival last weekend.

In an interview with E! News, Blake’s rep made it clear that the longtime member of The Voice coaching panel did two things to drop the weight — two things that he apparently does not like very much at all.

“He’s doing the two things that he hates to do — diet and exercise.”

However, Nashville Gab offers a conflicting report that claims Blake’s weight loss was due to following a “divorce diet.” According to the report, Blake Shelton opened up about the “divorce diet” during a recent interview with Blair Garner on America’s Morning Show.

“During the interview, Shelton admitted that he hasn’t been going to the gym or trying to lose weight, but ate less due to the stress of it all.”

Back in July, Blake filed for divorce from Miranda Lambert after four years of marriage. People magazine published an official statement issued by the former celebrity couple claiming that it was “not the future [they] envisioned.”

Blake and Miranda further explained that they are “real people, with real live, with real family, friends and colleagues” and asked “for privacy and compassion concerning this very personal matter.”

In his first post-split interview with Entertainment Tonight(which aired August 3), Blake Shelton sipped from a cup that he claimed was filled with “a little vodka” and commented that “it’s been one of those weeks.”

Long before he married country singer Miranda Lambert, Blake Shelton was married to his longtime girlfriend, Kaynette, from 2003 to 2006.

Even though he was still married to Kaynette when he met Miranda for the first time in 2005, Blake admits that his emotions may have already shifted his feelings at that time.

According to Entertainment Weekly, Shelton opened up about the surreal experience in an episode of Behind the Music.

“I’ve never had that kind of experience with anybody. I was a married guy, you know? Standing up there and singing with somebody and going, ‘Man, this shouldn’t be happening.’ Looking back on that, I was falling in love with her, right there on stage.”

During the same episode, Miranda Lambert admitted that “it was just like this draw to each other” which was “sort of this inevitable chemistry” when she first met Blake Shelton, as well.
