Mila Kunis And Rob Zombie To Collaborate On ‘Horror’ Show For Starz

Here’s a pairing you certainly don’t hear about — ever. Actress Mila Kunis and musician turned horror director Rob Zombie have decided to team up for a project.

According to Deadline, Kunis and Zombie are joining forces to produce a horror comedy series for Starz called Trapped.

Trapped is described as a series that, “takes places over a single night in the home of a wealthy family under attack by a murderous cult. Orchard Farm’s Susan Curtis, Cami Curtis and Lisa Sterbakov also executive produce.”

Starz managing director Carmi Zlotnik talked about the new project with Mila and Rob.

“We’re excited to work in partnership with Rob Zombie as well as Mila Kunis and her Orchard Farm Productions associates Susan Curtis, Cami Curtis and Lisa Sterbakov on this horror comedy series.”

The show is written and created by Joey Slamon from Arrested Development.

It’s not a surprise that Mila Kunis is putting on the producer’s hat. For years she’s been talking about taking the role on in her career and phasing acting out to focus more on her family.

So far, she has a daughter Wyatt Kutcher with husband Ashton Kutcher. Wyatt turns one on October 1. Back in June, in an interview with WWD, Kunis revealed her plans for the future.

“I have a TV production company at ABC, so we’re developing shows there and the Starz Network. That’s something I wanted to do when I got pregnant. I wanted to be a stay-at-home mom, so I’m pursuing that still, and I’m probably going to go back to work later this year.”

Kunis knew that she would have to start producing even before she had baby Wyatt. In an interview with friend and frequent collaborator James Franco, she said that it’s tough aging in Hollywood as a woman.

“Sometimes you can find a happy medium, but in this industry it’s rare. It’s weird that at the age of 29 I’m talking about aging in this industry, but the truth is I don’t think I can do this for the rest of my life. I want to be a producer. That’s really what I want, because I love this work in a weird, sick way. But I also want a life. I want a family—just, like, one day, not tomorrow.”

In an interview with W magazine, Kunis was open about taking a break from acting. “I had already decided to take a year off. This job has always been a hobby that turned into a great profession, but I don’t eat and breathe acting. Although, give me a year of not working and I’ll see how I feel.”

In addition to her show on Starz, Kunis sold a comedy pilot to Fox called Champion. Champion, a single-camera comedy which will focus on “the everyday experiences of a hyper-competitive but perpetual underdog dad presented like a sports documentary, with commentary and analysis.”
