iPhone 6s Problems Could Be A Win For Samsung Galaxy Note 5

The iPhone 6s has received good reviews, but problems have been noted in the reviews. One of the problems is battery life. The Wall Street Journal criticizes this issue with the new iPhone.

“Let’s get this out of the way first. The No. 1 thing people want in a smartphone is better battery life. And the iPhone 6s doesn’t deliver that.”

The review adds that the 4.7-inch 6s may get you through the day, but you’ll have a hard time making it until bedtime with moderate to heavy use. The iPhone 6s Plus, however, can get most users a little more juice. The new iPhone’s biggest competitor, the Galaxy Note 5, has a better battery (3000 mAh) than the iPhone 6s (1715 mAh) and even the iPhone 6s Plus (2915 mAh). The Galaxy Note 5’s battery can also be charged a lot faster, even with a wireless charger (which the iPhone isn’t compatible with unless you attach a wireless ring adapter).

The iPhone 6s and 6s Plus have been praised for the camera being upgraded to take 4K videos. The Verge praises the video quality.

“It shouldn’t be any surprise that 4K video looks great — it’s way higher resolution than what you’re used to from a phone, and Apple is very proud of the fact that the iPhone’s A9 processor can do all of its stabilization and processing magic while shooting 4K.”

The main issue that media sources don’t talk about when it comes to the new iPhone video camera capabilities is that the iPhone doesn’t (and never has) taken videos with stereo sound. The Galaxy Note 5 takes 4K video clips with stereo microphones that are separated by a big space, therefore offering realistic and crisp stereo audio with videos.

Perhaps the biggest problem with the iPhone 6s and 6s Plus is the screen resolution. The 4.7-inch iPhone 6s has a 1334 x 750 pixel resolution display and the 5.5-inch iPhone 6s Plus has a 1920 x 1080 pixel resolution screen. These days, most competing smartphones have 2560 x 1440 pixel resolution screens, and some smartphones are even starting to have 4K screens. Apple is a company that has usually been ahead of the times. However, they are far behind when it comes to their smartphone screens.

Despite these shortcomings, Apple has one thing that Android phones don’t have: the iOS operating system. Apple’s simple operating system, which is even more simple with the iOS 9 upgrade, is far more consumer friendly than the Galaxy Note 5’s Android 5.1 (Lollipop) operating system. It remains to be seen if the iPhone’s other shortcomings will affect sales this time around.
