Fetty Wap Provides Confidence To A Young Boy With A Missing Eye

Fetty Wap, the rapper behind the smash hit “Trap Queen,” isn’t one that’s known to be shy. In fact, according to MTV News,Fetty Wap appeared on stage at the MTV Movie Awards this year without his prosthetic eye. While the appearance by Wap stirred up comments about his eye on social media, it also seems to have breathed a breath of confidence in a young boy dealing with a very similar problem. In fact, the young boy’s mother thanked Fetty Wap for the confidence he has provided to her son.

When Fetty Wap was just a young boy, he was in a car accident that resulted in congenital glaucoma. Although doctors were able to work to save one of Fetty Wap’s eyes, he eventually lost his left eye as a result. However, that hasn’t stopped Fetty from becoming one of the biggest rappers in history, and that is a fact that one of his fans has taken to heart.

The young boy that Fetty Wap inspired goes by the name Jayden, and has dealt with the loss of his eye since he was a toddler. However, Jayden had a bit of a confidence struggle growing up. In fact, his mother wrote on social media that he would never leave home without his prosthetic eye — that is, until he became a fan of Fetty Wap. Jayden’s mother had the following to say in a post on Facebook that was designed as a thank you to the famed rapper.

“Today I am forever thankful to a young man named Willie Maxwell aka Fetty Wap… [Jayden] has always been terrified of taking [his prosthetic eye] out and would not be caught without it… and then comes along Fetty Wap… Similar to Jayden he lost an eye at a young age and along the way decided that he didn’t want to wear his prosthetic eye anymore… Jayden is venturing into the world without his prosthetic.”

The full Facebook post is listed below! In short, Jayden’s mother is forever grateful to Fetty Wap for giving Jayden the confidence he needed to be himself. It may be a safe bet to say that Fetty Wap had no idea that he would become such an inspiration to young children like Jayden!

(Warning: long sentimental post ahead) Today I am forever thankful to a young man named Willie Maxwell aka Fetty Wap….
