Alabama Church Shooting: Gunman Opens Fire At Pastor, Injures Two Others Including An Infant [Breaking]


In yet another case of a church shooting in the U.S., three people were reportedly injured after a gunman opened fire at people assembled at a church in Alabama. According to ABC News, the shooting incident happened at around 11 a.m. local time on Sunday at the Oasis Tabernacle Church located in East Selma, Alabama. The gunman who opened fire is in police custody and has been reportedly charged with three counts of attempted murder. The three people injured in the shooting incident include the church’s pastor, a woman, and a young child. The identities of the victims have not been revealed. All three victims were rushed to a nearby hospital where they are undergoing emergency treatment. Their conditions were not immediately known.

According to Dallas County District Attorney Michael Jackson, they have identified the gunman as an individual named James Minter. He added that the woman who was shot in the incident was Minter’s girlfriend. He went on to add that the shooting incident at this time seems to have stemmed from a domestic issue, and that race is not a factor.

The pastor injured in the church shooting is white, while James Minter, his girlfriend, and the infant are black, Alabama.com reports. Jackson adds that Minter is being currently held without bond at the Dallas County jail. Police officials have commenced the investigation into the incident.
