HSN President Defends Jessica Simpson: She Was ‘A Top-Notch Professional’

Jessica Simpson’s behavior during her recent appearance on HSN was recently defended by none other than the network’s president himself.

Us Weekly reports that HSN president Bill Brand opened up about Jessica in an interview with Entertainment Tonight. Brand claims that the 35-year-old fashion designer was not intoxicated during the broadcast.

“Of course she wasn’t drunk. [She was a] top-notch professional… She was here. She was thrilled to be here. I can tell you our team loved working with her.”

Jessica Simpson visited the HSN set Thursday to promote her 10th anniversary fashion collection. Her televised behavior made headlines and quickly became a trending topic on social media.

During her segment alongside Colleen Lopez, according to Us Weekly, Jessica was “giggly” and even started “wobbling on her feet and slurring her words at certain points.”

When introducing her “Kiss Me” skinny jeans, Jessica seemed to ramble about her sister Ashlee and her brother-in-law Evan Ross.

“Ashlee is like the best at wearing gray. My sister. Like, she’s very rock ‘n’ roll, but there’s something about a gray that’s, like, sexy. Maybe it’s her and her husband [Evan Ross], they share jeans, I have no idea. I don’t know. There’s just something hot about them.”

It did not take very long at all before Jessica Simpson became the butt of numerous jokes on Twitter after the footage of her HSN appearance circulated online.

According to Entertainment Tonight, Jessica Simpson’s odd behavior apparently did not have a negative effect on her sales since host Colleen Lopez claims that they had a “sell out show.” In an official statement, the network claimed that “it was fun to have Jessica make her HSN debut with her mother Tina” and that they “were happy to host them and thrilled with the way customers responded to the collection.”
