Common Core Prank Check: Take A Good Look At This Check, The Hidden Reason For It Is Epic [Photo]

The intricate concept of the newly implemented Common Core math style has left much to be desired by parents and students alike. For those who aren’t familiar with Common Core, there have been numerous arguments posed by educators, parents, and students who insist Common Core math is simply a way to complicate simple mathematical equations.

Needless to say, many parents around the country aren’t too thrilled when it’s time to complete math homework assignments at night. In fact, one couple found their child’s mind-boggling math assignment so frustrating, they decided to do something about it. Although the Ohio couple only desired to express their disdain, they’re epic tactic has gone viral on social media.

According to the International Journal Review, the child’s parents decided to write a check to the school, replacing the alphabetical and numerical dollar amounts with standard Common Core math. The check, written to Millridge Elementary, reportedly comes with quite a challenge for the faculty recipient.

Theoretically, there is only one way the check could have actually been cashed, reports Opposing Views. The recipient would probably have had to explain the Common Core math style to interpret the numerical values and solve the equation to come up with the amount of the check. Since many adults aren’t exactly familiar with the “simply complex” math style, there’s a real chance the explanation would have probably been a bit confusing.

In fact, there’s actually a possibility a school administrator could encounter problems cashing a check since math teachers aren’t normally responsible for students’ financial expenses. The image of the check, originally uploaded to Reddit, was also shared via Twitter by a user under the handle @JoanofArc1920. The social media user commended the parents for their attempt to argue the seemingly unnecessary complications of Common Core math. Many Twitter users have also agreed with the arguments.

Although the image of the check has gone viral, this isn’t the first time someone has criticized Common Core. Another parent with a Bachelors of Science in Engineering recently attempted to explain the Common Core math style to her son, only to end up frustrated himself. So, in an effort to vent her frustrations and console her son, she wrote an epic letter to the teacher, explaining the difference between basic arithmetic and Common Core. Even with her level of academic success, she admitted that the method is still quite confusing for her, let alone a child. That letter reportedly went viral on Reddit.

“I have a Bachelor of Science Degree in Electronics Engineering which included extensive study in differential equations and other higher math applications,” the frustrated father wrote. “Even I cannot explain the Common Core Mathematics approach, nor get the answer correct,” the parent wrote. “In the real world, simplification is valued over complication.”
