Girls’ Generation Experiences Lost Love – Taeyeon, Tiffany, And Yoona End Their Relationships Within Six Months

Since 2009, K-pop mega group So Nyeo Shi Dae (SNSD) – better known as Girls’ Generation – generally overlooked the K-pop landscape. Considered the most-popular group of the “Big Three” (Girls’ Generation, Wonder Girls, Super Junior), Girls’ Generation has released hit after hit which would result in the growth of their fan base known as “Sones.” Just like any other fan base, the Sones take a particular interest in the personal lives of Girls’ Generation members especially relationships. With that in mind, many Sones were shocked to find out one of the group’s members, Yoona, ended her almost two-year relationship with Lee Seung Gi.

Though the aforementioned relationship news is saddening for Sones, the debilitating fact is Girls’ Generation is experiencing much lost love right now. Along with Yoona in the span of six months, Taeyeon and Tiffany have also ended their relationships too.

Each ending relationship was officially confirmed by SM Entertainment through Korean news outlets such as OSEN. The first was Tiffany when she ended her relationship Nichkhun of 2PM back in May of 2015. Their reasoning was conflicting schedules. Three months later, Yoona would end her relationship with singer-actor Lee Seung Gi. They too would reason their conflicting schedules for the breakup, but fans speculate the real reason is that Seung Gi is about to do his mandatory military service. Finally, Taeyeon broke up with Baekhyun of EXO after 14 months of being together. Just like the other two, conflicting schedules were the reason for their breakup.

The detail that needs to be pointed out about Taeyeon, Tiffany, and Yoona ending their relationships is it also ends a period when the majority of members of Girls’ Generation were in relationships (not counting the “no dating allowed” years), as detailed by KpopStarz. As of now, only Sooyoung and Yuri are in confirmed relationships, the former with K-drama actor Jung Kyung Ho and the latter with baseball player Oh Seung Hwan. Sunny, Seohyun, and Hyoyeon have not been in any confirmed public relationships as of yet.

And for those who still care about the “first member” of Girls’ Generation Jessica Jung, she is in a supposed relationship with Korean-American businessman Tyler Kwon.
