Sheikh Rashid bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Dies At 33: Young Prince Of Dubai Had A Heart-Attack [Breaking]

Sheikh Rashid bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, the prince of Dubai and son of Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, died at the young age of 33. He had suffered a massive heart attack.

The Dubai Media Office confirmed about the sudden and tragic death of Sheikh Rashid and has added that funeral will be held Saturday, after which a three-day mourning period will start in Dubai. Sheikh Rashid bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum was the eldest son of Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum. During the three days of mourning, UAE flags will be flown at half mast, reported Al Arabiya.

Despite his young age, Sheikh Rashid was acknowledged for his business acumen and the ability to steer various projects for the development of Dubai. His father was Vice-President and Prime Minister of UAE and Ruler of Dubai, and had plans to induct the young prince into the administration and eventually ask him to take the reins into this own hands. Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum was prepping Sheikh Rashid to take charge, but it was not meant to be.

Besides taking a keen interest in the welfare of Dubai, Sheikh Rashid bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum was also was a keen horse lover and was the owner of Zabeel Stables, reported The Express Tribune.

Though not much info has been released about the state of health or the sudden death, the state run media confirmed that funeral prayers of the late Sheikh Rashid bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum are to be held after Maghrib prayers at Zabeel Mosque in Dubai.

“We belong to Allah and to Him we shall return,” the Dubai Ruler Court said, the media reported.

Though the ruler of Dubai has fathered many children, who have all been groomed well, it is not immediately clear who will Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum choose to continue his legacy.

Sheikh Rashid is said to have been a great fan of sports and his official Facebook page shows him engaging in many sporting activities.
