Max Payne 3 PC Specs Revealed

You may have to wait a few extra days for Max Payne 3 to make its debut on the PC platform, but in the meantime you can at least get an idea of how well the game will run on your PC thanks to the newly-revealed PC specs.

Judging from PC World’s interview (via VG247) with Max Payne 3 PC lead designer Kevin Hoare, in which the specs were revealed, it sounds like performance shouldn’t be too much of a concern for most people. In the interview, Hoare said the team’s goal was to make sure Max Payne 3 ran as smoothly as possible on a wide range of hardware–but that doesn’t mean Rockstar skimped on features.

“You’ll find that screen resolution is scalable, there’s triple and even sextuple monitor support which helps to run higher screen resolutions, there’s various anti-aliasing options, scalable water quality, scalable shadow quality, increased detail for characters and vehicles and a scalable texture filter that further increases visual quality,” Hoare told the site.

“We’re also supporting DX11 with Max Payne 3, with features including Hull/Tessellation/Domain Shaders (which adds curvature to the character/vehicle models), Gather4 (for optimized shadow sampling / FXAA), Geometry shader / Stream Output and DX11 texture samplers to name a few,” Hoare continued.
