Another earthquake rattles Los Angeles

hawthorn-earthquake-1

An earthquake has rattled the greater Los Angeles area for the second day in a row.

Today’s earthquake, with a preliminary reading of 4.1, struck at 3:49pm local time (May 19) and was centered in the Hawthorn/ Inglewood area of Los Angeles, just North of the 105 Freeway, and south of Hollywood Park. The epicenter is nearly identical to yesterday’s earthquake.

There are no reports of damage or injuries. Eyewitness reports note that like yesterday’s quake, there was intense shaking near the epicenter. Scientists predicted yesterday that aftershocks could be expected, and this is what likely occurred today.

More when we have it.
