Shiloh Jolie-Pitt Transgender Rumors Persist: Angelina Jolie And Brad Pitt Allegedly Seek Professional Help

Shiloh Jolie-Pitt has become the third-most talked about member of her famous family simply by doing something that many little girls do — she dresses like a tomboy.

Many celeb watchers likely assumed that nine-year-old Shiloh Jolie-Pitt would eventually grow out of her habit of dressing like her older brothers, but she hasn’t. Because of this, some people continue to insist that Shiloh is transgender. However, neither Angelina Jolie nor Brad Pitt has responded to all the wild speculation about their daughter’s gender identity.

Now RadarOnline is claiming that Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie have suddenly become very concerned about their daughter’s love of wearing boy’s clothes, and they’ve even sought “professional advice on how to help Shiloh.” The parents are allegedly concerned about their daughter being bullied, and they want to make sure that their five other children understand and accept their sister. Shiloh Jolie-Pitt’s older brother, 14-year-old Maddox, was enlisted by his parents to help explain things to the younger kids. This is presumably because he’s old enough to understand the meaning of being transgender.

Radar‘s source claims that Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie had slightly differing viewpoints on Shiloh before they met with an expert (the tabloid never reveals exactly what kind of expert the parents supposedly consulted). Brad and Angelina have both been “very accepting” of Shiloh’s choices, but Brad was the only one who thought there was a possibility that his daughter was going through a tomboy phase that would eventually pass — he allegedly theorized that Shiloh Jolie-Pitt’s older brothers were simply influencing her fashion decisions.

“Brad was told Shiloh would have gravitated towards dressing as a boy, and being called John, even if her siblings were all girls,” the tabloid’s source said.

The reference to those old “John” rumors makes Radar‘s report start to look rather dubious.

As the Inquisitr previously reported, the rumors about Shiloh Jolie-Pitt being a transgender boy who wants to be called “John Jolie-Pitt” stem from Angelina Jolie’s 2008 interview with Oprah Winfrey. The actress told the talk show a cute little anecdote about how Shiloh went through a phase where she wanted to be called Peter or John. Angelina said that the little girl was really into Peter Pan at the time, so she was simply pretending to be the characters from the movie.

“She only wants to be called John. John or Peter. So it’s a ‘Peter Pan’ thing.”

In the past, some media outlets have been very critical of Brad and Angelina’s decision to let Shiloh dress like a boy. In 2010, Hollywood Life went so far as to speculate that the couple was actually trying to turn their daughter into a son.

“So Brad and so Angelina—what’s up with the cross-gender dressing for Shiloh? Did YOU both want another boy, not a girl?” Bonnie Fuller wrote. “Maddox and Pax weren’t enough? Aren’t you worried that you’re going to confuse little Shiloh? Give her gender identity issues?”

“Peter Pan Thing, my ahem! Brad, does Shiloh even know what the color pink is? Has she even seen it? Why do you let little Shiloh be dressed this way?”

Fast forward a few years later, and some media outlets have jumped to the other extreme. Instead of insulting Shiloh’s tomboy look, they’re trying to prove how accepting they are by referring to Shiloh Jolie-Pitt as “John” and “he.” Last December, The Advocate even referred to the child as “John” and “they” in an article about how Shiloh likes to wear suits.

“Around the age of 3, the now-8-year-old informed the family that they want to be called John — and everyone in the family has obliged.”

However, Angelina Jolie has never used male pronouns when referring to Shiloh, and she’s never called her daughter John during interviews. It’s been seven years since Angelina told the John anecdote that sparked the transgender rumors. If Shiloh had continued to insist on going by the name John Jolie-Pitt, don’t you think Angelina would have said something else about her daughter’s desire by now?

As you can see, everyone keeps trying to assign Shiloh Jolie-Pitt a gender identity. However, no one can tell for sure how Shiloh feels inside solely based on the way she looks. Perhaps it’s best to quit speculating about the poor child — if Shiloh wants the world to know her gender identity, she’ll reveal it when she’s ready. However, she’s under no obligation to do so, and everyone should respect her right to remain silent about it.
