AlDub Nation Rejoices: Alden And YaYa Dub Will Have Their First Date On Saturday’s ‘Eat Bulaga’
The AlDub nations can rejoice, as star-crossed lovers Alden and Yaya Dub will finally have their first date on Saturday’s episode of Eat Bulaga.
The “Kalyeserye” segment on the popular Philippines noontime show Eat Bulaga has created a worldwide sensation, with viewers following the trials of the two lovers in the live segments. So far they have only met twice — including once when they were blindfolded and abducted by Lola Nidora — and each time it blew up on Twitter.
As PhilStar noted, AlDub fans will finally be getting another meeting between the two. On Thursday’s show, the two played a matching game to test their compatibility, and matched on five out of seven answers (including whether they would rather have a church wedding or a beach wedding — both picked church).
Alden and Yaya Dub will now get to go on their first date together, which has fans on Twitter going wild.

The Asian Journal noted that the appeal of AlDub is reaching far beyond the Philippines.
“When AlDub fanatics post anything AlDub-related, everyone jumps right in. And it’s hard to resist the urge to check them out. And when you start watching their skit and following them on every social media platform, that’s it – you’re hooked. Welcome to club!
“I’ll play skeptic and say that at first you wouldn’t really get it. You would think to yourself: ‘how is this weird couple flirting stupidly on screen pass as comic?’ But the longer you watch Alden ‘Bae Alden’ Richards swoon his beloved by flashing his deeper-than-deep-dimples and lip syncs to every cliché love song ever written, you get stuck. Then you watch Maine ‘Yaya Dub’ Mendoza does her signature nostril-flare and tom-and-jerry smile to look wackily ugly (which is never the case-coz she so adorable). And in the middle of them lip syncing songs and dubbing lines flawlessly, the stern and typical Lola-character played by Wally Bayola steps in and ruins their flirting session.”
With the first date between Yaya Dub and Alden coming on Saturday’s Eat Bulaga, the AlDub drama could be reaching its biggest audience yet. And that would be quite an accomplishment, as the daily hashtags have reached two million tweets or more already.
