Dan Le Batard Tackles Marshawn Lynch’s Mom Over Critical Facebook Post

Marshawn Lynch’s mom has come under fire for a Facebook post criticizing Seattle Seahawks Offensive Coordinator Darrell Bevell. But according to ESPN personality Dan Le Batard, the real criticism should be directed at Marshawn Lynch himself for allowing his mom to make headlines at all.

“I don’t know how Marshawn Lynch feels about this but can we agree this is not a good look?” Le Batard ranted to his co-host Stugotz. “You can’t be the mother saying the offensive line stinks. He’s got to go to work with those people.”

The post in question, as reported by Fox Sports, was made by Marshawn Lynch’s mom, Delisa, after the Seahawks handed the ball off to her son on what amounted to be the final play of a 34-31 loss to the St. Louis Rams on Sunday. Delisa criticized both the Seattle offensive line and OC Darrell Bevell, calling for him to lose his job among other things.

“Too the smart as media who wrote that’s why marshawn didn’t get the ball in the Super Bowl, how many times did russell get sacked yesterday don’t worry i will wait on the answer plus it was totally different at the Super Bowl the line was better than yesterday no blocking and to the offense caller who should have been fired yes i said it Fired!!! he is the worst play caller ever the only reason he called dumb as play yesterday is to be able to justify the 1 yard that wasn’t called in the Super Bowl.”

Regardless of whether fans can agree with her assessment of the Seahawks play calling Sunday or not, Le Batard was quick to pile on Marshawn for allowing his mom to be so vocal at all, citing the difficulties it could cause in the locker room.

“No one is accusing that Marshawn Lynch is a momma’s boy considering running style… but you can’t have this. This is a workplace problem. Like you would not be ok with your mom saying bad things about me on Twitter or anywhere else, because furthermore you would jump to the conclusion as a teammate, as an offensive lineman, that she is saying this because [either] Marshawn Lynch is saying this to her… or she has your okay to say this. You can’t have your mother being [the] story.”

Seattle, meanwhile, are in enough hot water on the field having lost the game on Sunday and facing the Packers in Week 2. As reported by the International Business Times, the oddsmakers are favoring Green Bay over Marshawn Lynch’s Seahawks by three and a half points.
