Man Divorces Wife After She Adopts 550 Cats

A woman in Israel adopted one too many cats.

The Times of Israel is reporting that a man filed for divorce at the Rabbinical Court in Beersheba because his wife adopted 550 cats. The man claims that he was not able to sleep because the bed was constantly covered in cats. He also claims that it was impossible to eat in the house because the cats kept trying to steal his food.

The Times of Israel writes:

“The man, in his divorce request, complained that the cats also blocked his access to the bathroom and did not allow him to prepare meals in the kitchen… When he sat to eat, cats jumped onto the table and stole his food.”

The court urged the couple to reconcile their differences. The husband asked the woman to cut down on the cat companions but the woman refused, choosing instead to agree to the divorce.
