Sharon Stone Being Sued By Former Nanny

Erlinda Elemen, Sharon Stone’s former nanny, has filed a lawsuit against the “Casino” actress accusing her of racial harassment and sweatshop conditions.

Elemen says that Stone had her work 7-days a week, and holidays, but refused to pay her overtime. The 9-page lawsuit also claims that Stone “equated being Filipino with being stupid” and frequently used racial slurs. The lawsuit also says that Stone was dismissive about Elemen’s religious beliefs.

The lawsuit reads:

“(Sharon Stone was) repeatedly verbally dismissive of Elemen’s deeply held religious beliefs, criticized Elemen for frequently attending church and, on one occasion, even forbade her live in nanny from reading the bible in Stone’s house.”

Webpronews reports that Elemen worked as Stone’s nanny for four years before she was fired in 2011. Stone claims that Elemen was fired after she stole the overtime pay that she felt she deserved.

Stone, who called the lawsuit “absurd” and filled with “fabricated claims,” said in a statement:

“This is an absurd lawsuit that has been filed by a disgruntled ex-employee who is obviously looking to get money any way she can… After she was terminated approximately one-and-a-half years ago, she filed claims for alleged disability and workers compensation. Now, she is obviously looking for another opportunity to cash in. This is a frivolous lawsuit for absurd claims that are made-up and fabricated.”

The lawsuit is seeking an unspecified amount in unpaid wages, damages, and penalties.
