Harvard Shooting: Man Shot at Harvard Campus Kirkland House

Harvard Shooting: The Harvard Crimson is reporting that an unidentified man has been shot at the prestigious Harvard University campus at around 5pm local time.

Police say the Harvard Shooting victim is being treated at a nearby hospital. The man was shot near the entrance to the Kirkland House dorm and collapsed on Dunster street while trying to flee the scene.

The Cambridge and Harvard police departments were still searching in around Kirkland House, one of Harvard’s 12 undergraduate houses, for the assailant, according to a message sent to the Harvard community. University officials asked students to remain where they are and report unusual activity to the Harvard Police Department.

  2. The Cambridge City Manager is all powerful and chief law enforcement officer under the “plan E” form of government in Mass. His policy is to allow, contrary to law, campus police (special state police officers and sworn deputies sheriff “exclusive jurisdiction” (a legal term). That allows the University to selectively enforce laws. A 2005 Harvard Crimson article noted how open drugs are on campus.
